Some may remember I had posted a moan and groan about not getting much support from my GP or respiratory specialist. I had visited my GP about ten days ago and asked for a refferal for a rehab course which he agreed to do for me and was still waiting to hear from them as of yesterday when a COPD community nurse popped in to see me she didn't phone ahead to say she was coming so arrived and found me at my worst I was upstairs and had just finished hoovering my bedroom carpet so no time to recover I arrived down stairs abit worse for wear puffing and panting to which she stuck the monitor on my finger then took blood pressure oxygen was around 83 but climbed back up to 96 once I had my breath back and blood pressure was on the high at 160 / can't remember the other figure. What a lovely lady stayed and chatted for about an hour much better than the ten minutes usually allowed.
She has made some changes to prescription and has said more test will be done before I start the rehab course which she agrees is a must, and mentioned an accesment for ambulatory oxygen. I felt so much better after she had been you could have knocked me over with a feather when my husband announced who she was. Hopefully some improvements can be made anything to make life a little easier will be a good thing. I was told to make a further appointment to have blood pressure checked out again and the surgery phoned with an appointment for 8:30am next week Wednesday that will be fun we live on a busy road which has road works ongoing at present so I shall be up at 6:30 to leave at 7:30 haven't been up and dressed at that time in a long time. That'll blow the cobwebs off me won't please the other half too much either. Hope I haven't waffled too much take care all and enjoy your day.
