I am surprised how many family and friends want to build a courtyard after seeing our pool reno.... I have let them all know that I am happy to give them all the technical advice they require...Just don't ask me to come around and help. My hands are like their owner NQR.
Finished at last....never again!! - Lung Conditions C...
Finished at last....never again!!
very pretty but don't you miss the water for swimming?
G'day Bandit... thanks for the reply, but we had not used the pool for a few years and with 3 young rugrats (Grand children) I was not comfortable, even with the pool fence in place.
Also last Friday it was 38c.... today it is 8c...Only in our state can you have all 4 seasons in one day.
Yesterday it started like this... up at 4am (working at a farmers market) ..windy 12c ..... Arrived at the market site 7.30am (2 hours from home) .....9am, heavy rain 8c.......11am sunny 14c......1pm heavy rain 10c. Last night, it rained for most of the night, very heavy...this morning bitterly cold..6c and we have the heating on.
Wednesday it is going to be 35c
Envious???
Will
Not envious I have over 2 ft of snow in my back yard which is melting into a mud bath for Bandit, plus we too are expecting a rain storm. You jealous lol. where do you live sounds like your weather is like mine
Yes Bandit, but I just heard on the radio that Mt Hotham (one of our top snow ski resorts) 3 hours from our home has snow falling... in Summertime.
I wonder where all those clots, you know, the climate alarmists are maybe they can explain it to me.
you live in or around Australia?
Down the bottom in Victoria 1hr east of the Melbourne CBD.
I thought so,how is the wife doing? great I hope and if I remember rightly, you also needed some medical care and then there was the trip you were going on, how is that planning going? Her name I think is Susan if not blame old timers lol
I will give you 10/10 Bandit.
I hope all is well over there.
The trip is in the future..hopefully in the latter part of this year.Susan has a few problems, one of them is me, the others are all medical. We will be in the hospital on Friday...Susan will be having a Gastroenterology, trying to sort out stomach concerns.
My own health problems are due to old age (bone on bone in both knees) and look like being with me until I move my furniture upstairs.
Thank you for your reply
Will
My memory isn't too bad. I remember Susan had a transplant but not her tummy. Is it the meds bothering her tummy. I heard they can pretty tough on your body.
As for you my friend my brother in-law just had 2 hip replacements back to back, he too lives in Aussie and he is so happy and mending well, very little pain. I know you love Susan to death but if you r not healthy you can't take care of her. I like 10/10 wish I got those in school lol. Let me know how the tummy stuff goes tell hi to Susan
Thanks Bandit
Not the meds..during the surgery they cut the nerves and sometimes they do not heal as a knit. Has been causing problems for some .
regarding knee replacements..it will mean up to 6 months of recuperating..I do not have that option.. cannot do the things I need to do for Susan if I am not mobile.
Will
Are they supposed to cut the nerves? That sounds weird, is this fixable for her? Honestly you can't help anyone if you aren't in tip top shape, no one says you have to do both at once. My brother in-law was up and around very quickly back to work, the only thing he couldn't do was drive the car for a while but that was a whole hip replacement.
Susan is not bedridden is she? What is this gastro guy going to do for her if her nerves were cut, sew them back together, I am not understanding, was this a mistake or on purpose and what did her stomach have to do with a lung transplant? Kind of opposite areas are they not? Now you have mind just a going here
I think your courtyard is beautiful, I have a brother in Victoria whish I was well enough to visit.
take care
polly xx
G'day Polly
nice to hear from you...been a while...I hope you are okay??
I would not recommend visiting here at present what with our weather..air con one day...heater the next.
I have never seen it like this before...and in the middle of our summer.
Both of our ski mountains are covered in snow today...unreal.
Stay happy mate
Will
Looks like you did a good job. Well done!

Looks great and no more cleaning out leaves...hehee.Look foward to catching up....love to you both.
G'day Mate
Nice to hear from you...hope you are okay??
We will be in the Alfred on Friday...but Susan has to have a general anesthetic so will not be able to catch up.
Maybe next week Peter...I will let you know when we are going in
Will
Look forward to it Will...let Susan know I will be thinking of her on Friday.Everything difficult at moment as am moving homes after 16 years.
Sorry mate
I forgot about the shift...bet you find the things you have lost...and will lose some of the things when you move.
I am sure there is a gremlin who takes great delight in "losing" things in a shift.
Last time we moved we boxed and taped everything...still lost a lot of DVD's.....methinks light fingered removalists.
I hope the new premises is better for you, I think you mentioned, no more stairs to climb.
I am off to Alexandra in the morning with the animals...doing an educational visit at the kindergarten...thank GOD the weather is on the improve. Can you believe it 35c one day and 8c the next. I bet the brass monkeys are all rugged up.
Stay happy mate and I will call you with a date to catch up
Will
Great job Will but what a lot of work. Do you miss the pool? Hope you and Susan are well. Xxxxx
G'day Sassy
Hard to miss the pool...especially with our weather...we did not use it for a long time...nor did I keep up the maintenance...so a blessing to get rid of it.
When I emptied out I found a crack in the fiberglass, right on the bottom...so It would have cost an arm and leg to get it fixed.
Both well albeit Susan has a couple of Hic-cups at the moment. Stomach emptying...we are in the hospital this Friday...fingers crossed.
Stay happy mate
Will
What a fantastic job you've done, Will. That's the prettiest bit of hole-filling I've seen!! 😄 I hope Susan is still doing well and I'm sure it's just the medication making her a bit grumpy. Very best to you both xxx
Nice to hear from you Tee...I have learned my lesson...Too old to do this sort of thing.
Thanks for your enquiry re Susan...just hope the Dr's can fix her stomach problems.
Will
