So.. Idk if this has anything to do with it but in 2013 I was in contact of black mold for at least 6 months. Got very sick, the usual fatigue, spitting up blood etc.. Time went on and at the middle of 2015 started getting short of breath pretty bad and crackles right under my breast bone. By the end of 2015 I felt like I could barely walk. Saw a pulmonologist and she said I had Asthma and prescribed everything. Nothing helped, went back, she prescribed Klonopin for my anxiety and it all went away but when I'd stop taking it the symptoms would come back no doubt. Stopped taking meds in May and was feeling much better by August untill September hit then my chest started getting tight which Claritin helped. By January this year, I had so much swelling in back and chest muscles I went to the ER they said pleurisy, went to pulmonologolist and my lung tests were 100%. After that I took meds as prescribed, no Klonopin yet and got to where I could barely walk two feet, no exaggerating. Went to the ER and they said anxiety which Klonopin does help but only if I'm taking it. If I'm not on Klonopin it feels like someone is squeezing me so I can't gey a full breath and get winded very easily. Feels like there's sand or crud in the bottom of my lungs keeping them from filling up all the way. My back muscles ache, chest muscles.. idk what this is so if you've ever experienced this please leave a message here. Everything comes back clear but I feel like I'm suffocating!
P.s. I've had anxiety for a long time and never had to deal with this till after the mold. If it is from mold the question is, what did the mold do? It's pretty okay during the summer but fall and winter are the WORSE

I'm a novice where knowledge of lung problems is concerned but I take it you have not had xrays or the full works testing for copd by a pulmonary Nurse? When I was starting with copd - I felt I could not get enough air in to my lungs, but I am not asthmatic. The best thing is to wait until someone on here can come and advise you what your next step should be. Have you got rid of the black mould?
Try not to worry meantime. I wish you well.
Hi anxiety can cause all the problems you are experiencing (obviously apart from pleurisy eg). I would stay on the ad and see how it goes. Also google breathing exercises for anxiety, there are a lot on the net. Practise those and they should help a lot. x
I had this and it was aspergillious mold infection it my lung. Id get a ct scan with contrast just to check your lung is ok as the breathing symptoms, blood and 'anxiety' i got told from docs etc was the same as yours. It might not be that but id get it checked out with being around mold for so long . My lung function was also high at the time
Take care hope thos hadnt made you anxious just get a lung scan if possible.
