Sorry I can't help, but I'm wondering if you've tried the Oesophageal Patients Associatetion site, there might be someone there who can answer your questions. I hope someone can.

I was just told by my ent doctor I have Dysphagia clearly not quite as bad as yours BUT they say if interferes with breathing you need to go see gp or AE.

My ENT doctor said acid caused mine The say chew food proper and eat meals that are juicy slide down easy.

I would go AE

Hey ho Carolg1

I have had about 50% COPD for 2’ish years and have been through a few panic situations, one of which is what you described regards swallowing food. It took a couple of attempts with my gp’s, no interest from them, so opted for the out of hours Doctor at the hospital. He actually had a look in my throat and found ‘oral thrush’ he also asked the right questions and determined that I had OSA (obstructive Sleep Apnea). Antibiotics, steroids and a banana flavoured cream for my throat and back to “normal” a few days later.

Still waiting on referral for OSA but hey, that’s life.

Anyway get a doctor to look in your throat it may be as simple as oral thrush (by the way, oral thrush is from all the inhalers) 😁

My brother for the sleep anapeo wears a mask overnight and says he feels better in the morning. We're he works driving cars told him that if he didn't keep on wearing it and seeing doctors about it he would have to give up work for saftry reasons but so far keeping the mask on at night helps to regulate his breathing. Now me I have to wear one I have COPD. But I also produce to much carbon something or other can never remember the name. With the humidity I have been struggling so use during day

Afternoon

I have nutcracker which I’ve had for about two years very very painful you get something called ncp which is non-cardiac pain so it feels like your having a heart attack what happening is the muscle above the stomach and blow oesophagus goes into spasm and it’s very hard to eat you chock on food or drink it comes up when it wants and you may chock when you’re asleep I’ve had 4 Botox injections in the muscle and I take 40 mg of omperazole twice a day you get a lot of acid and it’s a very rare illness they class it as an eating disorder so that’s what I’ve got I hope this helps I also have emphysema and asthma it does get frightening at times but you do get use to it well as can you need to see the dr

Take care
