Hi guys, so recently as mentioned I was having chest pains and shortness of breath which seemed to be continuing for a while, my chest pains went but I still have breathing suffocation feelings. I realised it was anxiety related when recently going to the doctor, and I’m just continuing with it.
I then noticed while doing very psychical running exercises, my tongue was turning blue. I am not sure if it’s either my imagination or not, but I then went back to the mirror after finishing exercise and it was gone, or when I breath on it.
So I’m not sure what this is, it’s not my lips or anything that turn blue, but my tongue when I doing exercise and I breathe a lot.
Is this a known symptom anywhere? Or am I just imagining thing through my anxiety?
Thanks!

First of all if you lack oxygen then the extremities are the first to become cyanosed. IE they start to turn blue. The lips fingers etc. If you get central cyanosis when the gums etc are also affected then that is a serious sign. However as your lips etc are not blue then you cannot have the second. If your chest pains have been investigated then It would suggest anxiety. To be safe I would speak to your GP about a stress test where you can be monitored whilst exercising. This is the only way you will get a definitive answer. Sadly no one can diagnose on line.
Hello thanks for your response. When I first starting having these symptoms(not blue tongue one) I immediately went to the hospital where I received answers that my oxygen levels were completely normal even when I was having breathing difficulties, along with the rest of the results, they seemed to not know what it was.
I am not having any other bluish symptoms, just as I said, when I am exercising very very hard as if I feel like I’m doing to much lacking breathing, and I breath on my tongue, which then turns kind of greyish bluish, more grey. So I’m not sure, but it’s not on lips or anything and goes away immediately after exercise. As I said, could be imagination, as I tried again and it was normal so idk.
Many of us on this site suffer from anxiety. Each of us have different coping strategies. The mind can play tricks on us. My wife calls me Mr Logic. At times when first diagnosed I felt short of breath, however my pulse Oximeter told me my saturations where fine. At times I think you need to take a step back look at the evidence and use logic rather than emotions to guide you.
It always seems like I try, but I want my breathing suffocation feelings to go, there’s no medication, and when I get positive feedback it may feel better, but I don’t think there’s anything to help it :/
Wait sorry, what is it that makes you have the second one again? I’m not sure if I have first or second because I did mention my tongue would turn blue when I exercise to the point where I’m just breathing rapidly and don’t feel like I’m getting oxygen, but is fine after i relax. Is that one or two?
When you exercise high impact running etc your blood and oxygen chase back to the muscles that are being used to support them in the supplements they need to keep going. For example after I jog or aerobics my face is completely white and normally my cheeks are red .But if you haven't been checked out already go see your GP and explain your symptoms xx
