If you are receiving DLA/PIP before you are 65.
DLA will continue for as long as you meet the criteria,( unless the Government change the rules)
PIP will continue for as long a period the award is made for, with reassessments.
Hi nana, I applied for mine six months before my 65th birthday and receive standard daily living allowance and enhanced mobility. My letter of acceptance said that I would be reassessed in 2024. It does seem stupid to me that anyone applying after 65 is only entitled to attendance allowance with no mobility componant. In essence, having to be assessed for a Blue Badge every two years instead of getting it automatically and no mobility payment which does help with taxis etc for someone like me who cannot use public transport.
if you have your own car you might be entitled to get your tax paid on your car. I dont know if things have changed over the years but b4 I got DLA they paid my car tax
Hi Joyce,
You are right. I did get free car tax when I was awarded my PIP. I now have a motability car which is an incredible programme.
I only found out because someone told me I wonder how many miss this
