I have been diagnosed with severe chest infection and finished my course of antibiotics yesterday but still getting tight feeling on my chest and causing me to be breathless and it hurts and every time I cough as well. Feeling so tired. Not sure whether to go to walk in centre or back to gp in next few days. What is people's experiences of this please? Thank you

Chest infection
It can often take more than one course of antibiotics to clear an infection. You probably need a second course but where to go would depend on how quickly you can get to see your GP.
You could always ask to speak to the duty doctor. You might want to ask if s/he thinks a sputum sample would be useful.
Good luck

You could also phone the surgery and ask for a telephone appointment. From there, when you speak to the GP, they may possibly have some urgent slots available.
Thank you so much- unfortunately I cannot use the telephone slot as I am profoundly deaf and cannot use the phone but thank you for suggestion. I may log online to doctor's surgery in the morning and see if they have urgent slots available. Thank you for your advice.
Goodness, we can take some things for granted. That must make it difficult for you Tilly. I hope you can find a way to see someone as the sooner the remains of the chest infection gets treated, the easier it will be for it to get better. Good luck.
Go back to the GP I often need a second course of antibiotic, do not wait just make the appointment
I managed to get a wicked chest infection , had one course of antibiotics and 5 days of steroids ......Waited a week during which time I felt dreadful before I went back , that was really silly . Am now on a second course of antibiotics and 7 days of steroids. So as said by your other friends on this site go back as soon as you can to your surgery.
Jo.
Ask for an emergency appointment. You know if you leave it they'll say '...you should have come sooner..'!
