Hi & welcome.
No, but not unusual, either. The onbrez is long acting (24hr) bronchodilator and is one of many inhaler options.
The amoxicillin is an antibiotic and is likely only 7 day treatment - because you have an infection? Were you given Prednisolone as well (usual)?
Hi Mr67, sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with copd. You've been given a bronchodilator - the onbrez - and amoxicillin which is an antibiotic for infection. There are many different drugs given for copd. Onbrez is a relatively new one and I don't know much about it so can't help you there. Here is the BLF page about copd treatment which will give you an idea of the different medications and their uses.

If you are concerned about your treatment do consider calling the BLF helpline (03000 030 555 office hours) and they will talk it through with you. The first thing is for you to get over your infection. Ask your doctor about keeping a 'rescue pack' at home - this is antibiotics and steroids which you can start yourself if an infection/exacerbation should strike out of surgery hours - your GP or respiratory nurse should tell you about management of your condition and you should have a management plan.
I hope if you have smoked (not all copd people have done) that you've now stopped. One of the best 'treatments' you can do is pulmonary rehabilitation which you can ask your doctor to refer you for - its a course of exercise and education for people with lung conditions.
All the best to you and please do ask any questions you may have.
A very wrm welcome to you
