Hi Mark. Anyone on oxygen needs to be really careful not to get Vicks anywhere near their tubing. Can't see any reason not to use it otherwise but then again, I don't know your medical history.

Sounds awful but it clears your nose out. I had a bad head cold in November and used it twice a day. You squirt a solution up one nostril (over the sink) & it comes straight out the other...then you blow & the stuff that comes out! You repeat in the other nostril and then.... you can breathe:) Wouldn't be without it now

Thanks I'll try that

Of course - it should help clear the airways. I am sorry you have a cold and hope it doesn't develop any further. Have you tried the tip about putting Vicks on the soles of your feet and wearing old socks in bed. If so, please let us know if it works?

I would guess it's okay but, as a couple of others say, I, personally, simply can't get anywhere near it (or nail varnish, scented candles or a number of other strong smelling substances) - I'd be very wary when the pot of Vick is opened that it doesn't make you worse.

I use Vick's in my humidifier. I also use one of the small Vick's nose inhalers. Works wonders for me. I have severe emphysema and thankfully not too many odors effect me.

Rub it on your chest at night before washing and going to bed as the vapour will help as well.It was widely used in the 50's 60's possibly before drug companies decided money could be made in the field of illness !!
