Hi. I recently had pleurisy at the beginning of November. I was given strong antibiotics and it started to get better. I've been feeling better lately but occasionally my lungs feel a little tight and I seem to get aches especially in my shoulder. It seems to happen after I've been outside in the cold. Could it be the pleurisy lingering?

Pleurisy
Hi Panda 44 Pleurisy can take a long time to get over. Leaving you easily exhausted and with pain which is in one place or can 'move' about your chest. If it goes on for too long or you get suddenly much worse do go back to your doctor to check. I hope that you feel better soon.
Thank you xx
Hello Panda,
I have a feeling you may be right. Stillstanding offers sound advice. The healing process does take a considerable time. Don't let it linger, and if in any doubt, contact your surgery immediately.
I too hope you start to feel "over the hump" very soon.

Just saying a quick hello Panda as i don't have anything to add to what Stillstanding has said. Some continuing pain is to be expected but just don't let it go on too long before seeing your doctor.
Hi Panda44 I had it nearly 30 years ago when I was 14, still now in the cold in especially in winter I get pain in the lining hurts a lot kinda like needle's or electric shock in there and also, more my left shoulder, I get pain.
Sorry no good news but it does not last long and does not affect my life just hurts, also to note my lung capacity always was good and still is so no worries there.
Hope it helps a bit.
P.s the is just long term outlook like others said go see doc if u need to.
The way my doctor told me is..it never goes away it just sits quietly and flares up. I hadn't had a problem since 3 yrs ago. I got real upset this last weekend and it flared up feeling like a heart attack again and now I'm dealing with a pain in my left rib area and shoulder. So she was right. It sits.
