Hi,

Google - Swine Flu/New Zealand/Vitamin C. There is a good YouTube video from a Current Affairs program. See what you think.

Not everybody with COPD needs oxygen

Morning Channell, how are you feeling today? Did you get some sleep?

You may not need to take oxygen, so don't worry about it. Only some people with lung conditions need to have it.

If you find in the future that you're prescribed oxygen then there's lots of support here for you from members who use it.

Just don't let it pray on your mind

Hope you have a better day today 🌻

Hi Channell, Has the Dr. told you that? Do you know what stage copd you are? You haven't us much about your diagnosis. Hoping the steroids start working and you feel better soon. Ruby🌹

My late husband had a oxygen concentrater plus liquid oxygen before he went onto having a double lung transplant .It gave him a lot more independence being able to get out. He wouldn't use it at first as he had got it in his head that once he started he would deteriorate quicker but soon changed his mind once he started on it.

Don't rush into trying to get on Oxygen, too much is as bad as too little and messing about with tubes and concentrators all day is no fun, but then for some of us there is no alternative. As many of the members on here frequently say have a chat with your GP or Respiratory Nurse.

Hi, do not despair.... I am on oxygen 15=20/24 .... no. 1. Apart from being a bit restricting I find it isn't a problem and believe that those that know what I need wouldn't try and kill me off so although I have been diagnosed with COPD my breathing nurse reckons I am more asthmatic ...I have had 1 lung for 11 years and I have the oxygen for other bits of my body too as I have heart failure and other problems ... I am out every day in my car and visit my old Mum regularly as she is unwell too .... Life does go on with oxygen just have to change your life to suit and don't give up on something that could do you good xx
