Can anyone please tell me if and when you should consider using a nebuliser ? or indeed need to use one ?

Nebuliser
Im wondering why you are asking this mastertom - you don't give any information about your condition. Your doctor or consultant will tell you when you need to be nebulising your medication. My understanding is that generally nebulisers aren't advised unless there's a specific need, e.g. when you're hospitalised so short term use, and back to normal medication delivery when you're better - that's my experience anyway, and I have primarily copd (severe). People with bronchiectasis use them in the later stages - my sister in law uses ones daily to inhale her antibiotics. If you are worrying, talk it through with your respiratory nurse or GP.
I have a nebuliser but it was given to me to take antibiotics as 02trees mentioned...I had never used one until then apart from having it when i was in hospital
I have a nebuliser at home but only use it when really bad when I have an infection and I get close to being sent to hospital when im better I use only normal inhalers ,
A big THANK YOU for all your sensible and very helpful replies.
