Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a multivitamin for respiratory/ fatigue/ over all health. I'm clueless and just wondered what others might take and weather they can make a difference. 😊

I have a fruit smoothie (bluberries, strawberries, peach, apple, pear, banana) every other morning.

I also take Magnesium, zinc, vitamin b complex vitamin d3 and a bio yogurt tablet ever other day all from asda apart from bioyogurt from holland and barrett.

If you cant stomach tablets floradix have magnesium, calcium, iron and multivitamin in liquid form

Hope this helps

Magnesium seems to help my breathing and d3. If unsure ask doctor.

Quite a lot of disagreement on this,Tinkz. Have a look at the Related Posts on the right.I take magnesium and vitamin D3. Am sure you'll have lots of replies from people who know more. Sue x

Have you ever had a blood test to show if you are lacking any essential vitamins? If not your doctors could be a good place to start. x

Hi tinkz I take vitimin D and berroca multi that goes in water. Best wishes xx

daily Vit D and Vit C and maybe Vit A . It is a good idea for dr to check for these and make sure levels are in the top of the range. Dr could also check for others such as iron, B Vits etc and other essential minerals to make sure there are no deficiencies. :)

Earlier in the year, a blood test showed I was very deficient in Vitamin D. The doctor prescribed two months high dosage to be followed by 4 months over the counter pills. I'm about to have a follow up blood test to see if levels are back to normal. I think the Vitamin D has made a difference to the way I feel. I don't have all the aches and pains I was getting and my mood has improved.

I still get tired, but then my peak flow has dropped from 260 to around 200 so that might account for it. New inhalers haven't improved things there.

I'm just contemplating whether to take a multivitamin through the winter - think it might be a good idea!

Hi, I'm surprised no one has mentioned God's antibiotic/reviver. Honey.

i have a long ago diagnosed Emphysema. Recently my energy levels have been almost zero.

So just over two weeks ago i started taking two teaspoonsful around supper time. After a couple of days I noticed i wasn't as tired in the mornings as I had been of late. Now over two weeks later I feel pretty "normal" most of the day.

Manuka Honey is by far the best but is expensive.

Good luck.

Vitamin D3 is now known to help those with Asthma, COPD and even Emphysema.

Both D3 and A are anti inflamatory.

I know of 4 people these vitamins (Vitamins D3, A and also K2) have helped turn their illnesses (Asthma, COPD and Emphysema) around and they are all miles better.

Hi CW my prescription of vit D includes calcium. I am sure I read somewhere that vit D can have an effect on your calcium levels? Also my fish oils (not cod livers) come with added K so I guess they compliment each other.

Always good to hear from you.

Hi Sockrackers :)

I do hope you have been prescribed enough vitamin D3 ? I was not prescribed enough, I was only prescribed 1000iu and told it was a very high dose of vitamin D. I later found 1000iu was only a maintenance dose. Only when I upped it to 5000iu by buying it myself did all my pains go away and stay away.

Yes you are right about Vitamin D and K go together well, but wondering if your fish oil's added vitamin K is K2 or not ?

Best to have K2 (as natural MK7,) it is a better type to have (apparently.)

I take vitamin 5000iu D3 +K2 100mcg (MK7 type)

I am sure you already know about vitamindcouncil.com for up to date safe doses of vitamin D3 and illnesses vitamin D3 helps. :)

I found Floradix iron tonic helped to boost my energy; only down side is that it discolours your teeth.

Hi Tinkz - my blood tests showed I was very low on Vitamin D3.

I also take BioAcidophilus Forte (live bacteria) every morning; this is to replenish the good bacteria in my system that a lot of my drugs damage or kill off completely. I also take Aloe Vera (the gel drink - 60 mls).

I also take Magnesium Citrate, Co-Enzyme Q10; Echinacea, L-Carnitine; Siberian Ginseng and Vitamin C (Ester- C; this doesn't have ascorbic acid in it, as that can harm the lining of the stomach).

My Immunologist also prescribed regular Vitamin B12 injections, which I have at my G.P. surgery every fortnight. Along with having Bronchiectasis, I also have M.E. so I do get bouts of extreme tiredness.

Have you been offered any blood tests, as they will show up any deficiencies. Hope this has been helpful. Good Luck and stay well :)
