Has anyone here ever had open heart surgery that wouldn't mind answering some questions?

I'm afraid my surgery was an emergency case, so I don't recall that detail. I would imagine you will receive plenty of reassurance beforehand. I do recall the staff were amazing.

Hi Jodie , are you worrying that you will feel pain. Can you speak to your doctor or a nurse about your worries.

My next door neighbour had a replacement heart valve earlier this year, and she is fine now.

Try and contact a health professional to set your mind at rest.

Best wishes

The only thing I can contribute is that I had a brain operation last year. I was lying on a bed chatting to the anaesthetist about whether it was a good idea to subscribe to Practical Classics and then woke up in a bright room with lots of people whizzing around, i.e. post operation. I didn't feel a thing. Modern anaesthetics seem to be very efficient.
