Just received a call from Wythenshaw to say I have gone on the active transplant list. Sitting here not knowing how to feel, should I be jumping for joy or cowering in the corner?, should I be on the phone telling everyone? Why am I on here! Oh now my stomach is doing summersaults if that's how you spell it? BREATH

On the list !
Brilliant news for you. I understand how you feel, I'm sure I would be the same. Nerves, excitement, apprehension all rolled into one. Just hang in there and wait for the better life that will be the result of this. Wishing you all the best. Christine.
Hi southy congrats on getting on the active transplant list and I hope you can have the operation soon. It must be a bitter sweet feeling so I am not surprised you have mixed emotions. On the one hand there is hope again, but on the other is quite naturally the fear of 'Omg what have I let myself in for'. Thinking of you x
Congratulations! Exciting times mixed with some anxiety but definitely a good thing overall. x
So pleased but I do understand your quandary, huge possibilities, massive surgery. A real roller coaster of emotions.
All the best
Kate xx
I'm sure it will sink in soon, what an opportunity unfolds before you, feeling hopeful and full of gratitude for this second chance for you 😁. Keep us updated! Get as much info from people who have already had the operation as you can 😊 thinking of you dancing !😁 huff xxx
Definitely take a breath Southy and take on board such great news. Bit scary too but on the whole - GREAT!
Xxxxxxx
No wonder your stomach is doing somersaults! You will be running the gamut of emotions I guess having decided to take this step. Fingers crossed you get a suitable match soon. x
Hi southy congratulations and I hope everything works out for you. Your emotions will be all over the place and you will need time to process all the thoughts going through your mind.
Look ahead to a new and healthier chapter in your life.
Stay Positive.

It's wonderful news, and you're bound to feel as you do. It's good that you've got the time to absorb it and to dare to start thinking about life being rather different!
Take it a bit at a time,
Sue, x
Oh you have a rosy future...............................you will be living again....really living.
I'm excited for you, but also understand your other feelings I think. We are all with you so talk to everyone you know who has had the transplant. Great post from hufferpuffer.

Thank you xx
It must be both nerve wracking and exciting. Just think of it as being given a second chance. Hope you get your match soon! 😊
I wonder if you could shed any light on the transplant assessment as I'm having one at Wythenshawe on 8th August and don't really know what to expect.

Hi, yes, I was in for 4 days in April for my assessment. Lots of bloods taken walking and breathing tests, scans on body and heart andteeth! An Angiogram. Also lots of people to see, physio, social worker, dieticians surgeons etc etc. I was on the jim quick ward and i was treated so well. The staff were just lovely and nothing felt rushed, so informative. I hope this has helped you have nothing to worry about xx
Wonderful news! Can understand how you feel and would feel the same if it were me. Wythenshawe is a great place you will be in the best of hands too. Hope everything goes well and you don't have to wait too long. Take care of yourself.
Great news - congratulations sought - hope you don't have to wait too long x
Hope it all goes well for you.
Oh that's great news but I'm sure your thinking of all the '' what if's '' a real bag of mixed emotions
It really is still so stresses xx thanks xx
excellent news for you and i wish you all the best for the future. I am waiting for a date for assessment at newcastle to get on the list. It seems you waited a while after assessment to find out. I thought they would tell you at the assessment, for me the waiting is the hardest part.
hugs
Michelle
Hi, yes they would have put me on the list a week after the assessment only I needed dental work done and then I got an infection and so had to wait until I was on a lower dose of steroids. If all your tests are up to date then you probably won't have to wait xx good luck
