Why is it that I wake up this morning feeling awful, heady, tired, basically rough! I used my machine take my inhalers. One day I feel reasonable, never great, but reasonable, and then I get days like today, where I just want to go to sleep. Hate feeling like this. Whinge over

Day to day
No two days are the same MisUse which can be very frustrating but make the most of the reasonable days if you can. Pete sleeps a lot because of his drugs, disturbed nights, feeling down and pain from his back problem. Today is not a bad day so we may go out this afternoon. Take care xxx
You are allowed a whinge. If today is not good then rest up. If tomorrow is better you will then be more able to enjoy it.
Im having the same sort of day and have to get ready to go to PR but just want to sleep.
Is PR pulmonary Rehab? Am going for assessment end of month. Have done it before but quite a few years ago and was much less breathless then. Hope it goes well
We do recognise how you feel and it's unfortunately part of the package. But the good thing is that there are better days. I think we all find it difficult to give in to the bad days and accept them but it's the best thing to do.
Let's hope for a 'reasonable' day tomorrow, and take care of yourself. Sue x
Hi Sue,
Tad annoying that I always seem to feel dam rough when the weather is good.
I did enjoy my visit to a 14 century pub for lunch today though - even though very breathless.
rest now eh!
Hi butterfly,
Really pleased you enjoyed lunch in the pub. Good for you when you felt rougher than usual.
Quite a few people seem to be struggling today and i think it is because of the weather. I got diddly squat done in the garden, for no apparent reason except I couldn't breathe and had little energy. Will try harder tomorrow.
Hope you have a better day, too.

So annoying not being able to sleep not sleept for three nights, only manage about two hours during an afternoon nap, thought I'd count sheep but put that idea to bed lol take care all God bless naresh62x
probably feeling rough because pollen counts are very high at the moment. However I still enjoyed my visit to a 14th Century pub lunch, and getting called 'a lady' but ready to drop now and have so much to do here and really don't feel like it- well, tomorrow is another day and no pub lunch to look forward too. boo hoo.

Have just been to my GP, chiefly to say goodbye as he is leaving. Am gutted as he has been such a support to me for over 10 years now. We had a chat and he has changed my antihistamine as the I have been on my old one for years. He's also given me a low dose of steroids to hopefully calm things down a bit. Oh well tomorrow is another day
Hello MisUse,
It's a B isn't it...usually happens on a morning when you have something good planned. You just have to go with the flow, not forcing yourself to do something is the best plan for you may suffer after. There seems to be neither rhyme nor reason that we know of. A good whinge never hurt anyone so carry on...... it's what we are here for - to be on tap for each other, encourage, sympathise, advise if we can.
xx
I think that apart from all the physical and medical reasons that there's also a small psychological aspect to it as well. Admittedly, I'm basing this on my own patterns but I'm frequently amazed at the way I can suddenly be 'up for something' if it involves someone I really want to spend time with or something that I would find exciting to do, or someplace, I really want to go. I think I get an adrenalin rush that gives me energy and miraculously, I feel stronger and less sob. Or maybe I'm just imagining it. But I agree with you that it's very annoying to feel good one day and then bad, the next. Hope tomorrow is a good day for you.
Thanks for your support yesterday. Feeling a bit better today, so meeting up with other Retired Partners from John Lewis for lunch. Jean x
Hi my name is John, I was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis , to go with my Ashama, they haven't been able to control the lung infections I keep getting, my Consultant referred me to the Royal Brompton in Lomdon they have told me I have an underlying problem on top of what I already have, they are going to take me into the Brompton for a few days to do tests. I to have disturbed night feel terrible in the mornings also can't get up and sleep until lunch time. I thought it was because of the disturbed nights but its the same if I sleep well at night.
Good luck with your tests. I have been under the Brompton for a number of years, I have 3 consultants, respiratory, cardiologist and electrophysiologist who looks after my Atrial fibrillation. I spen 4 days in the Brompton beginning of June as my breathing had got so much worse and the heart doctors didn't think it was related to my heart. After tests such as X-ray, CT scan and lung function tests they found my lung function has become much worse, so they have changed my inhalers and I go back early August for follow up, and having a rehab course, assessment end of this month. It is a great hospital and all the staff are really nice and very supportive. I hope they can help you. They will no doubt do a sleep study as well to see what is happening at night. I have a machine at night to keep my carbon dioxide levels down. It is the build up of CD which makes you feel so bad in the mornings, and is not good for your body to have this build up. Took a while to get used to my new machine, but definitely feeling better for it. Let us know how you get on. Jean
