Sorry but I'm also unable to offer any specific advise but thought I'd say hello anyway. This is a great site and I'm a relative newbie too. Everyone is really friendly and there's plenty of good advice and friendly chat.
Hi Louis and welcome to our lovely forum. I am on oxy 24/7 but can't help re blocked nose. Maybe ring the helpline on Monday they are very helpful. Take care xx
Welcome to the site Kathy. This is the best bunch of people on here. You will learn so much. For my stuffy nose, I use XCLEAR. Its a nasal spray with xylitol in it. I use it in the winter, when I have a dry stuffy nose. Its all natural. Give it a try. They have it on amazon. 😊 Rubyxx
Have you tried a sinus rinse, brand name NeilMed? I always have congested sinuses and my doctor recommended using a rinse once or twice a day. It keeps the sinuses moist and helps rinse out bacteria.
I remember reading awhile back, that sinus infections are very hard to get rid of. A lot of people don't even realize that they still have an infection, then it will flare up, be given an antibiotic, the person feels better, but the infection doesn't completely go away.
Awhile back, I went to an ears, nose and throat specialist about my sinuses. She said that I had palups in my sinuses that causes the mucus to not drain very well, she said there is a surgical procedure that will open the sinus cavity and allow drainage. I said no to the surgery.
I was having a problem and couldn't figure out why I was always breathing with my mouth open, seems as if my nose felt partially closed off..I could hold nostrils together and they were sticky inside even if I'd just blown my nose..it got to where it woke me up in the night and that was scary..I bought the Breathe Right strips and they have fixed my problem..they keep the nostrils open.. I've been very cautious with nasal sprays and etc because they can cause swelling of the nasal membranes and also become habit forming..have you been using them for a long time? Could they have caused nasal swelling? Just a thought..
