I am still sleeping on the floor as my bedroom lost its ceiling in early jan uary. Couldnt get any one to fix it . Eventually I got a friend of a friend to do the work and has done the outside part of job anf finishrd that two weeks ago and now he cannot get a plasterer to finish the job . What do i do. Canno t hassle him but cannot sleep properly and fall asleep in th morning sitting in chair. Getting down is bad ebough but i am 86 and the getting up from the floor is not easy athroomis on floor above abnd early morning calls are not easy when need to go upstairs to loo .
Now i t return here and find we have lost littlepom who I do rely on fo r her knowlegde. What on earth caused that ! .

Not good that Jaybird19 - Specially at 86 - You need to tell your friend what is happening. A few years ago we had a bad problem 3 floods in 12 months, and the house was only about 30 years old. Tell your friend or his friend you can;t sleep and it's making you ill.
That sounds awful for you is there not like a support network or maybe a local MP that can help you out... Good workmen are hard to come by these days hope you get this resolved quickly 🥰
So sorry that you still are not sorted. I hope some of the suggestions above are helpful. Some local councillors are very good too, or perhaps even the local paper. xxx
So sorry to hear of your present problems. One possible temporary solution to the night time necessity to climb the stairs for a leak may be to buy a urinal and keep it handy. Amazon have them for about £6 - could be a good investment! Good luck Jaybird.
One further suggestion. Do you have a local neighbourhood website, we do. People often ask for tradesmen on that and it seems to work.
We didn't know where to look for a plasterer after we had a leak in the ceiling, but I found a good one via our local village Facebook page (members only group). Others on the group recommended them and they were local so needed to keep their good reputation. We had to pay obviously but they offered a good price. If you have a Hardware shop locally they can often recommend a local business too.
