PIP is in to two sections, one mobility and two care. You need 8 points in mobility section to receive the lower rate. 12 for enhanced And 8 points in the care components to receive the lower rate. 12 for enhanced.
4 points from each section will not be added together.
Do look at Toci's post about PIP. It may help you. I cannot see how your peak flow can help them assess how well you move around. It's ridiculous and it is not a measure that is used with everybody. I didn't do it and I was awarded higher rate mobility.
Can't help you with this, Fantasy3. I'm sure others will be around soon who can add more, but have just found your previous post when you were turned down and I wanted to add my pennyworth to urge you not to give up.
I know how stressful battling on is, but isn't giving in depressing and pulls you down more? You didn't ask to be ill - you're now asking for financial assistance to help you deal with the situation you're in so that you can live independently.
Hope you've seen someone from CAB who can help you.
I am really pleased to hear that fantasy3 the will keep you right and you will probably be awarded it. I used the cab and was awarded it wishing you all the best x
Hi Fantasy, I had the radio on at lunchtime - all about PIP and why 47% go to appeal and how many are then successful - sorry I've forgotten, but it's high. Most people do this through CAB so you're going to the right place for help.
The Minister for this was asked why so many go to appeal with a successful outcome. Because they don't ask the right questions in the first place !! And why NOT??
They interviewed a man who'd had all his toes removed to walk. Can't repeat what I shouted at the radio. The profile of this issue and the massive cock-ups is so high it must be a good time for you to be putting in an appeal.
