Hello. I have an appointment to take lung function tests next week. I am just recovering from a cold. Might this affect the results? Should I postpone?

Common cold and LFTs
Hi it might well do. The best thing to do is ring up and ask them. x
Same thing happened to me.
Before my appointment I called and explained I had a cough / chest infection and to inform them I was on steroids
They told me to come any way.
Call and explain your situation
I needed to see My Gp for a different antibiotic for a chest infection , he told me not to have breathing test ( spyro) for about 6 weeks . By then I would be back to normal and the results more accurate.
At least six weeks after the infection has ended before undertaking the tests. It not only affects the results but could cause serious long term damage.
Hello archiewells, as coughalot has said ask them,,but as the blood test is looking for a specific range of of enzymes and blood cultures, the liver is a very major organ that process not only the food you eat, and the medications you take,,,,the common cold is a minor blip, ,,,I hope the results bring you good news,,and you liver is in good shape,,, ttfn from Karen.
