Just found this online and thought you Brits would have an interest if it hasn't already hit there; otherwise, I'd like to know how this scenario is affecting you:

The wind picked up last night hear hasn't stopped yet

It's like the end of the world in South Devon. It's still dark and raining and that wind - it's howling through the eaves. I looked out of the window half expecting trees to be down... Yuck! x

Hi Duncan,I live on the south east coast and have been lucky to have had a mild winter so far, most of the bad weather has been in the north, where there have been severe floods and it looks like more on the way, feel so sorry for all these families.

Wind and rain kept me awake all night in Biggin Hill, Kent. No damage though. Chris.

Hi. Dark, wet and windy in South Wales (no change there then!). Very sorry for all the people who are flooded out. It will be months before all this gets sorted out.

Wind in the night was very strong and broke another pot :( But the north west of UK is getting up to 120 mm of rain it has been said.

They are calling this storm "Frank"?

Not too bad in Fife, Scotland but the poor people in Yorkshire and Cumbria have had bad flooding. We had a very windy night so will see what today brings.

Yeah we have it now.. Heavy flooding up north west.. Flood alerts out in Wales,,and most of Yorkshire flooded out.

And here in Shropshire, the trees are blowing over, and torrential rain..

Not even the dog will go out in it..

WOW !!! 16 replies so far..., thanks !!!

It's obvious SOMETHING is affecting the weather around many of the folks in the group, and affecting it harshly.

Yes..., Greenland seems to be in for it and I wish we had someone in the bunch of us from there.

All of you seem to be doing okay as far as still being 'plugged in' to the Internet and that's a great thing; I'm in the Atlanta area of Georgia and often the elements simply have to 'think' about being active for our electricity to go off for an hour or so. In no other place in which I've lived: NY, San Francisco, etc. has there ever been so many power outages. Of course right now we're doing okay but if one of these monster weather patterns even acted like it MIGHT come over our way, I can assure one and all that the hamster would be out of the wheel cage for a couple of hours. It's pathetic.

All sounds safe in "Jolly old England", and am glad you all see safe. Carry On !!!

Regards,

Duncan

Severe flooding two miles away. Will never again complain about all too frequent high winds, due to living at the highest point of this city!

Well now,,,it looks like we are in for some very bad weather,,!!!!!,,,,wellies at the ready,,, and will somebody ring cameron, sand bags will be needed,,,,it is his fault if we get flooded out,,,,his cronies cut the flood defence spending,,,,if they send in the army,,feed them well and give them a brew,,,,they don't want to be the rescuers,,but they don't have the choice to say no.
