some people are different but normally things with strong perfumes don't help us can be any thing from air fresheners to deodorants our teenager seems to use half a can of deodorant and pour the aftershave on himself with bedroom door shut I still get breathless downstairs in the kitchen with three doors shut between us ,

Those plug in air fresheners are a no no for me, as well as those reed diffusers and car air fresheners....they make my chest tighter.

But they may not affect other people I don't know

Best Wishes.

I have asthma as well as COPD though

They're full of chemicals Knitt. Awful things, should be banned. I bought one of those plug in things to put near my dogs bed once, even he couldn't stop coughing and sneezing 😕

Me and Mr V had a lovely day, my dad and his girlfriend drove over to see us in the morning, then we went out for dinner, and later drove to see our son, daughter in law and all the Grandchildren...Fabulous.

We have had them all round our house today for dinner, just cleared up, then feet up and telly.

Got bad cough and cold today, and sob, hope it doesn't get worse.

I can no longer stay with a friend as her partner insists on having those perfumed air freshener that puff out a blast when someone goes by. The partner just thinks I am being 'soft' even when they can see and hear the coughing bout that is triggered. But, some people do not experience any problem with them.

Not sure. I guess it depends on you severity.

I do know that Neal's Yard do diffusers using natural and organic products with no chemicals . P

Happy Holidays to you too

I think this is a personal thing, they get me like mad, so do ladies hair spray and over use of scent !!! I did have hay fever from 7 until into my seventies so maybe that is a part of that, as I said it's a personal thing. Best wishes Tatters.

I would say test and see Edwardo, personally I find strong heavy perfumes the worst. It seems to vary from person to person, most strong smelling things trigger me. Even road tar or perm solutions. Best wishes for the New Year .

Thanks Katieo...my daughter gave me what I think was an expensive diffuser. I had to close it down after she'd gone because I was experiencing an uncomfortable chest tightening. Pity because it was an undeniably pleasant aroma.

Take care in shops as well nearly passed out in Morrisons once going through the front entrance as they had their air con blasting out the smell of baked bread, I presume to make us feel hungry but as the in house bread department was right at the back of the shop some bright spark somewhere must have decided that a fake chemical smell was just as good.

So no sprays, perfume, deodorants well any thing with a smell in doors now, mind you can't smell anything now, sense of smell went years ago so haven't a clue if my house smell of boiled cabbage and dead rat. Rely on my daughter and sister in law to let me know if things are a bit stinky. Luckily nobody has walked in our house and passed out yet.

Cheers

Sue
