Sore.
Biggest congratulations Catherine. I imagine there will be all kinds of cr*p coming out of your lungs now you've stopped so that could explain the sputum colour. Keep going as the aching will resolve in time. Your body's going through a huge adjustment and its brilliant that your breathing is so good.
I'm 9 days into giving up and can JUST notice that I have more energy than normal (which isn't a lot) but my cough is 50% better! Keep at it. It's so hard at times. Please trek me how you are getting on. I'm new to this site and to computers in general so it can take me a few attempts to send a reply that you can read !!!
👏👏👏👏. Well done!
Sorry but I lied, it's only 7 days. Blast. Thanks for your support anyway.
Hi bit new myself but getting hang of it..its good to chat on here....been a smoker for 40 odd year...but determined this time..good luck to you.x
Hi, congratulations & keep at it! It's the most important but also the hardest thing to do, but you will be glad you gave up smoking! Your body is just getting rid of years of toxins but you'll soon feel the benefit. 👍
☺☺☺
Hi Catherine, well done for getting past a week. you'll soon start feeling really pleased with yourself.
As for coughing up crap, my 25 year old nephew gave up, when my partner died of lung cancer 4 yrs ago. He said he coughed up loads of black stuff. I was shocked he'd any black stuff to cough up at that age !!!
Keep it up. xx
Thank you soz about your partner..horrible disease...prob will cough up all sorts but al get ther..thank u.x
Well done u, keep going, just remember that crap coming out is only what us smokers put in, I've been packed up now for 2 yrs, I do have a vapour pen, which my consultant seems happy for me to use, but due to the nature of my illness I haven't really felt any improvement but I'd dread to think what I'd be like if I hadn't stopped when I did. Take care and well done xx Sonia xx
Well done, you must be proud of yourself. It's hard but worth it xx
well done keep up the good work Catherine x
Congratulations that's the first step and you will feel the benefits after a little while I was the same I smoked over 20 aday after iwas taken into hospital in a bad way the consultant told me if I didn't stop 50/50 chance I might get another year so I stopped cold turkey and that was 5 years ago and never been near a hospital since went too my pr classes and still do exercises when I can and walking but feel great get my ups and down like everybody else I am on oxygen now 16/ he day but good sleep great but good on you for stopping smoking
Keep it up, it takes a while to feel the real benefits 👏👏👏
Keep at it Catherine, your almost there. I know its hard, but I promise you it will be worth the effort and pain. When you cross that finishing line, you will be so pleased with yourself, and your body will slowly get back to normal, there will be a lot of gunk that needs to be extracted from your lungs, so sputum discolouration is to be expected. CONGRATULATIONS. Neo.
Well done catherine and SH, a week in is great, your probably past the worst, and things will only get better, Im 18 months in and feel amazing. I do still vape though.
xx
Well done when I gave up the first 6 months I did nothing but cough up rubbish off my chest. Smoking masks a lot of pain and because I have lower back problems the pain seemed 50% worse but I'm still pleased I gave up smoking I'm sure I would of been on oxygen 24/7 years ago.
