Molly And Murphy...Such Naughty Kittens.

The kittens are being awful...they've wrecked the bathroom...chewed the toilet rolls and sent bottles of nail varnish flying...tipped shampoo over so it leaked everywhere and ate the Spider plant...attacked the loo brush and somehow managed to stuff it behind the chest of drawers...then they had a fight with the rag rug and pulled bits of fabric out of it so now it has a bald patch...

This afternoon they rampaged around the kitchen...broke a plate and bit a hole in the bag of cat litter...Molly was teetering about on the shelf where I keep my cookery books and fell off onto the scales which then fell on the floor and broke the bowl...

She shot into the bedroom at ninety miles an hour and landed on the top shelf of books...tail swishing back and forth and her eyes as big as saucers, from fright I suppose...

Little Murphy sticks his tongue into Molly's ears while holding her down with his arms...she wriggles and he holds on for grim death before suddenly taking a bite at her neck...then they beat each other up with their hind legs pounding away...

Molly slides across the floor on her side...propelling herself with her feet while Murphy lies in wait behind the settee...leaping out at her with a blood-curdling yowl...

They tramp across the laptop key- board unleashing all manner of odd messages...ferret in my little bag of assorted nuts and dried Black Olives...fish tissues out of pockets and shred them all over the floor and munch away on furry moths and spiders...Crane flies are their favourites, they'll stalk them for hours...batting at them with soft paws.

Eating a bowl of cereal in the morning is virtually impossible when both kittens are hell-bent on the contents of the milk jug...they take flying leaps and land in the middle of the table...put them down and it makes not the slightest difference...back they come again.

Can't get cross of course...not when Molly looks at you intently with her strange yellow eyes and Murphy pats your arm with an enormous paw and searches your face with his eyes slightly crossed...

The very nearly dead Spider plant is hanging off the shower rail now...the loo roll is kept on the soap dish in the shower...my packet of nuts and dried Black Olives are safe in a tin with a well-fitting lid...I switch my laptop off instead of leaving it running, so as not to get weird and wonderful stuff appear on the screen...Himself carries the kittens about in the evening...one tucked under each arm as they seek out spiders and moths...he actually prods the unfortunate creatures with one of my walking sticks so the kittens can catch them...

Wouldn't be without them now...

Fun and games ! My last cat was 19 when he died so I had forgotten how lively kittens can be. The shredded loo roll, kittens hanging from the curtains, or climbing up your trousers. One of mine loved Brillo pads and they would turn up in odd places while my Burmese brought earth worms in carefully and left them all over the dreadful inherited Autumn colours carpet...camouflaged nicely.

Enjoy their antics ....it's good that they have each other to play with and egg each other on I guess

What a wonderful time the kittens are having. Would love to see Himself with the kittens on the spider hunt! Xx

He is funny...a kitten tucked under each arm...they go on the prowl looking for unsuspecting insects!

Sheer magic just normal little kittens so envious ♥♥♥

in reply tostarveycat

You couldn't have a kitten now? I did wonder about the fact Himself is ancient and I'm ill...wondered whether it was fair on the kittens. But we can't think like that...we'd never get out of bed!

I am still struggling with the wild cat have been for nearly 3 years daft animal. She will now feed in the kitchen with the back door open and comes into the living for her sweeties but we have to remain stock still. I want her to come in so I can shut the back door as its b cold early morning, did it once and she went bonkers hey ho I will just keep trying ♥♥♥

Hi a kitten by itself is bad enough for causing mischief but I had 2 together years ago. They would race round the flat playing tag, and chase each other through newspapers and up the net curtains, then they would race round again.

But at night one would sleep in my hair and paw it purring like a loon in one ear, and the other would wrap herself round my neck purring into my other ear. :) x

in reply to

Molly does that...curls round my shoulders and purrs in my ear...can't help but love them!

Molly & Murphy sound wonderfully normal hectic kittens. I am jealous...I'd love a kitten right now, but we are allowing our old lad (15+ years) with a bad back, to have his later years quietly.

I think he is missing our geriatric cat who died in January, and he has taken to 'sitting beside' a village cat who visits from time to time.

Enjoy the babies while you can! x

in reply toLolly2

You do have to think about your existing pets don't you? Millie and Bobby don't bother with the kittens...it's Eilis who can be a total pain...I do think much of her problem is jealousy.

Makes me smile just thinking about them. They sound like hard work but well worth it!

Take care

Spent 5 minutes visualising it all and remembering other idiocies. My older son arrived home for weekend from Sheffield with 2 tiny kittens he had taken from a man who was drowning them in a bucket. Within 2 weeks they were well and their main game was running up the floor length curtains and tight rope walking along the curtain pole. The first sunny day showed little rays coming through the curtains and of course the little holes turned into bigger.

in reply toSnodgrass

Drowning kittens indeed! Bet the ones your son saved had a really good life...even if they did make the curtains a bit holey!

The pig only agreed to hand them over when he was threatened with his head in the bucket so he agreed to hand over 2 that Saturday and then the other 2 the following Saturday. So then there were 4!

in reply toSnodgrass

I was thinking I'd have rammed his head in the bucket...so you ended up with four kittens...bet you began to dread your son coming home...lol
