After several 'phone calls and a bit of dithering as to times, we met a homely young couple outside The Goal Post in a local village...
She was clutching...not so much a kitten...more of a cat really. Bright ginger, wearing a rather superior expression on its face.
The girl handed her...it's a her rather than a him...over and we stuffed her into the cat carrier and took her home.
Murphy wasn't in the least impressed...he yowled and spat and his fur stood on end...Molly stalked past him with her nose in the air as she went into each room to decide whether her new home lived up to expectations...
They spent the night together shut in the bathroom and emerged this morning...not the best of friends yet, but happy enough to play together without it ending in bloodshed.
Molly is house-trained...her coat is clean...she looks perfectly healthy.
She's very friendly and loves to be cuddled...
Wonder what the real story is?

Lovely to see her...your post yesterday evening vanished into the ether. I knew a female ginger cat when I was a child but they do seem to be toms usually. She looks nice and placid
Beaut cat, looks healthy enough, let's hope she settles in nicely and she gets on well with Murphy. They could become lifetime companions.
Oooh Molly she is beautiful Vashti xx we had a lovely ginger years ago we called Moose... he was fabulously beautiful, regal and had such an attitude, he was beautiful xx I'm sure Murphy will warm to her soon
Ginger cats, like tortoiseshells rarely reproduce. She looks young to me. No more than six months in my non expert opinion. Have Murphy's ear mites gone?
She is beautiful
Molly and Murphy you are gorgeous. Maybe I got it wrong but my funny old granny told me ginger cats are toms. She led me up the garden path! 🌔🌕🌖
Molly is so beautiful Vashti and I hope Murphy realises what a "looker" he has for a companion. She looks a much paler ginger than our daughter's cat and seems to be at home already. Hope all works out well. xxx
Love the name...Molly ( and Murphy) Has she been neutered yet? I think she looks great! Hope it all works out with Murphy...I'm sure all will be well! She is beautiful! x
Lovely cat Vashti. I've always been told that you don't get female ginger cats? Are you sure she's not a "Ladyboy?" lol. What is it about names beginning with "M"? You have Murphy and Molly, someone else on the site had one named Moose, and my neighbour used to have 2 of them .......Mabel and Martin ( now sadly gone) and now has one called Moses! XX
Hi Vashti, Molly looks lovely. My eldest son took in a stray ginger cat a few years ago. Soon discovered she was pregnant. She had four kittens, unfortunately one died but they kept the others.
He now has four cats, all ginger, all female. :o)

Thank you everyone...lovely comments as always! I think the 'ginger cats are always toms' must be rather like an urban legend...lol
