Is Chronic Bronchitis serious ? my Doctor's wouldn't write a letter of support for ESA for me as I had to inform them if my condition's etc got worse, I just find this odd.

I don't think you get those benefits primarily if you've got chronic bronchitis. It depends on what the illness enables you to do or not on a daily basis. I'm not clued up on this but I'm sure if you google ESA you'll get all the facts. Sorry I'm not really much help but good luck

Hi you won't automatically get ESA because you have Chronic Bronchitis! A lot depends on what stage you are at and more importantly how it affects you. Do you know your stage and your lung function (FEV1)? If not ask your nurse/doctor. x

Hi .. Thank you for the reply, I'm already on ESA they put me in the Work Rated Activity Group (WRAG) because I have Depression (Long Term), Anxiety, Agoraphobia and Osteoarthritis of the Spine, Neck, Wrists, Hands, Hip and it's in my Knees and Feet (I haven't been properly Diagnosed for the Hip, Knee's or Feet (No X-Rays) the Doctor just said to mention it when I was going for Physiotherapy, no I don't know my Test Result's for the Spirometer I had 1st but the 1st Doctor put me on "Tiotropium Powder Capsules 18mcg 1 times a day, Seretide 250 Fluticas Propionate 250/Salmeterol 50 twice a day, Ventolin Salbutamol 100mcg 1 to 2 puffs 4 times a day" and said I had COPD but when I asked them for Medical Evidence to send into ESA they phoned me back and said I hadn't been Diagnosed with COPD and made me do another Spirometer Test but they did not tell me not to take my Inhalers before the Test which came back "Normal" 2rd Doctor said in so many words there was nothing wrong and it was my Weight but I said since I been on the Inhalers I've been better but her Attitude was 'carry on taking them if it makes you feel better' so I came off them and became really ill again, I had a CT Scan not long after seeing the 1st Doctor because I was coughing up Blood and seen a 3rd Doctor (Specialist) for the results and she said it was Bronchitis and I had 2 Small Spots/Scars on my Right Lung but I left there thinking I had Acute Bronchitis it wasn't until I got home I realized there was 2 types so I had to phone them up to see which one I had, I don't even know what Stage I got but I haven't been to bed for about 7 Months if not longer because I keep waking up choking, I've been falling asleep sitting up, I've been having really bad Chest Infections for about 4 to 5 years, lost count on how many different Antibiotics I've had, I'm starting to feel like a hypochondriac and fed up of going back and fore the Doctors etc

Hi That's awful and I am sorry you are going through all this. I agree that you need to see another doctor at the practise and if they are all as bad then change practises. This is an awful way to treat you and completely unprofessional. I don't have any advice unfortunately but I am sure others will be in soon who have,

It is a very common story on here about medical professionals messing you about and not caring etc. so you are not alone there. Good luck. x

Maybe you need to go back to the third doctor and explain all this more, xLulsx, before asking for a letter - my practice has several different doctors and some are better than others about my conditions.
