Hi does anyone have any idea where I could source ,a small trolley to take my oxygen cylinders,as I find them too heavy to carry and have to depend on others to be with me to carry them, which I hate as there are times I would like to go shopping or walking alone ...

Any advice would be great hugs to all

Linda

When I was first put on oxygen I was given a trolley from the company.it helped but street cred went down lol.... I use liquid oxygen now and carry the unit on my shoulder like a bag, it's great.

I will phone around a few companies see what they suggest ,good to know can be bought in this country as only seen American sites that have them.thanks for answering hugs xx

I asked my supplier for one a few weeks back and got it with my next exchange delivery. They issue them free.

If you're a bit handy or know someone that is, I made my own by modifying a small, inexpensive, black metal and plastic, two-wheeled luggage trolley and using some webbing strap and buckles. I like it because it's small and doesn't look like a piece of medical equipment. Get's lots of compliments and is really rugged!

Hi Linda,

I know what you mean. I got one from my Oxygen supply company. You can ask a your Oxygen supply company to supply you with one. They usually have one for the 2 litre cylinders. If you have a small 1 litre cylinder then you can get a shoulder pack.

Hope you get the trolley. All the best.

Hi Linda, ask your supplier for a trolley, they should be able to supply you with one free of charge. Alternatively a shopping trolley is another idea.

Good luck and enjoy your shopping spree.

I bought my own portable oxy very light, have it on whenever I want to,so if you can afford It it's freedom.......then you havnt got them always calling and maybe too heavy,I couldn't put up with any more of their nonsense " am I low enough" for NHS ,no I'm not according to them,I think I am so I am very happy and doing very well. When active I cannot do anything,I have a car n inhalor, they said it will do. No I want to go out without any fuss, and not be controlled.

Hi when you say portable oxygen ,do you mean the small concentrator ? Seriously considering one ,but have heard some poor reviews I'm on 4lpm thanks for replying x

Hi

Have you considered a rollator ?

They will keep you steady while walking, most come with a seat for when you have to rest. The oxygen cylinder hangs down the front, or in the basket if large enough.

Hi ,when I was pr a few weeks ago ,we had someone come in to give us a guide on what's available for oxygen users ,,,,she showed us different carriers, aswell as pull ones that are small ,so if would speak to your PR nurse or ask your oxygen supplier ,

I bought a rollator and I put a couple of the straps that people use for prams and hook my oxygen bag to them

Hi Linda, I find the cylinders too heavy too. The trolley they supplied was hopeless, heavy, just one column and a curved handle that I found awkward. I went to cylinders from liquid oxy because I`m now on 3lpm constant and thought the larger liquid oxy container was heavy. Finally sent for a cheap shopping trolley from ebay and when my son was visiting we discarded the bag and he adapted this for me. I`d love to be able to walk freely but needs must. Hope you get sorted soon. Sheila x

I am on from 5L to 8L of O2 and can't use a small tank. I use E tanks. I created a rack to carry 12 E tanks in my mini van. I also use a light weight medical scooter which comes apart and is also kept in the back of my mini van. It works pretty good for me.

Good luck...
