Having decided my Kindle really was as dead as a doornail we went into Sligo yesterday to PC World...handed both the Kindle and all receipts etc over to the girl behind the desk and said I think it's dead...
She trotted off...came back a minute later with a brand new updated Kindle...touch-screen and other goodies...handed it over and smiled happily.
I said thank you ever so much and headed for the door with Himself aghast at me not having paid...he never believes a word I say and he didn't believe me when I told him there'd been an offer on when I bought the original Kindle...if it stops working bring it in and we'll replace it...
Brilliant Vashti, I love my Kindle. I have just finished reading Thomasina by Paul Gallico. I couldn't put it down and stayed up half the night reading it.
You had better service than I had from them Vashti. I bought a "new" computer from them 2 years ago and discovered someone else's data already on it! I took it back straight away, but it took quite a bit of arguing back and forth before they agreed to plug it in to see for themselves.......might have had something to do with me threatening to do a naked sit-in in the store (not a pretty sight?) lol.
Anyway, after realising I wasn't living in cloud cuckoo land, they refunded me my money and I bought one elsewhere. Trouble is, I'll never trust them again!
I love your threat of a ' naked sit in ' I must threaten my GP with that when he is not answering my questions about a referral. Mind you he's seen it all before !!!
I love my kindle original type take it every where on holiday it's a must , don't know what I would do with out it fantastic customer service what a bargain hopefully you like the new one as much
I've got the Kindle app on my iPad as well as a Samsung mini tablet that fits in my handbag like a kindle machine.
Did I tell you about 'Bookbub'? Get great books, many free or 99p. Any genre you can think of, fiction & non fiction. They send you an email with daily updates, not a long list usually 2 or 3.
Hi Vashti My Daughter bought me a Kindle Fire for fathers day, to kep me occupied during chemo and other hospital appointments. It's the most recharged thing in the house If I'm not using it my wife is.
I was never one for computer games but I am now hooked on them. It was definitely a good purchase.
