suspicious e-mail

Just had an e-mail that said it was from HU but obviously wasn't - it said 171 replies and listed a mass of links. Wondered if anyone else had anything like that. It used my user name, worried me a bit, I just deleted it. Iris x

I think you did the. right thing deleting it as you can't be too careful these days! HU don't have my new email so I don't get notifications..

Oh Im not on the ball this morning, I'll never think of Lemon Drizzle in the same way again! Must admit I have been thrown by Colours answer. thought I was chatting to my friends, and mostly I know I am but a careless remark can be more hurtful than perhaps we realise. Makes me feel my age and perhaps should not be engaging in this forum as I don't fully understand all the implications. Sad because It has brought me pleasure. iris x

You are talking.to your friends. I felt it go in as much as you did and because we're just not like that...it makes us feel more vulnerable and open to unkind, flippant remarks.

Please don't be offended by other people , just let it go.Let your thoughts be happy ones like how lucky are we to be us !

For some reason I don't get any forum emails. They suddenly stopped a while back.

I will check my junk folder to see if anything like you have just received is there.

Oh, thank you, Azure, was puzzled by Colours reply, to say the least. I know these spam emails turn up from time to time, I,ve had them from Paypal, banks etc. but never from HU.

If you click on your profile icon top left. Then go on your account and check your preferences. You can tick how often you want emails

I opted out of emails some time ago after that weird Follower incident....you don't have to receive notifications if you choose not to.

I have had an email from the BLF about Breathe easy newsletter that's all.

Have you reported your suspicious email to HU.

I have had ones from Pay pal and a couple of banks and building societies and reported them in the past

Paypal are the target of a lot of suspicious because of the money involved. I was caught once, cliked and went to the "sight" butthey couldn't do anything because I don't involve mney when I am not sure. Be careful . You did well to report it. Mic

Seems there are scams everywhere, as soon as you wise up to one, a new one appears to catch people out. Would be lovely if we could all trust one another but sadly we can't. Hope your infection is clearing, and your wife feeling better. love Iris x

You did right to just delete it there are so many bogus emails....i have had several from paypal which look legit until my daughter showed me they were fake but i nearly put all my passwords onto it x

I got so fed up with the paypal fakes that I changed my password - its now rather complicated to put in but I feel more secure. Iris x

I know...you could tell the fakes at first because they just said dear customer but now they use your name ....they even knew i hadnt used it for a while so must be able to monitor it somehow

i just delete everything like that now x

" Lyd.....I had exactly the same as you... and like you I deleted all the 171.. I received... as I had my computer hacked last week and it killed my computer..... I had to buy myself a new computer as my IT Man couldn't repair my other one. He said " My IT Man " couldn't fix my old one..so I too Lyd.. didn't trust these 171 posts either, from HU..so deleted them all.......Megan."
