Try gargling with salt and warm water, might shift it.

drink plenty of fluids to thin secretions. Its easiest to bring up after you have been laying down as the mucus drains into the larger tubes, so its a step nearer. There are various methods for removing mucus, you can in depth info from the archives of pulmonarywellness.com in the archives section. Or you can try a bare minimum level at copd.about.com/od/copdtreat...

In UK you can get a mucus clearing device from the GP called an acapella, on prescription. I do hope you get sorted.

Hello. I'm new to this. Only signed up today.

I was given a device called a "flutter " by physio. I find it works well

Combination of deep breathing and "huffing". Loosens up and makes clearing easier.

Best wishes

Hi all, I av just signed up 2 day my self, I av a "flutter " that my husband bought me off the internet, & i would certainly recommend them. If u use it a lot in one go, the next day ur chest can feel quite painful, so u need 2 use it then wait a while 2 c what ur coughing up, just don't use it 2 much in one go.x
