After Mrs. Brown's Boys last Tuesday, went last Saturday eve to see Alfie Boe at Scarborough Open Air Theatre. His train was delayed at York and so they had to send a car for him. Consequently the 5.30 start was delayed so they could do a sound check. SOAT still haven't got it quite orgnaised after all this time. The loo blocks are bang in the middle of the smoking area, so no choice but to wee yourself or passive smoke!
Alfie Boe was excellent. There was also the beautiful soprano Angel Blue. It was forces day, so the military wives from York were there too and Last Night at the Proms, so we we were all singing We'll Meet Again and Land of Hope and Glory and all that. There was a fab firework display but the sleepy birds weren't so thrilled.
We decided to stay on for a few days. My sil was at Glastonbury, so my daughter and my little granddaughter came to Scarborough. We had a lovely time and the weather was perfect.
Didn't neb my Tobramycin as it does tighten my chest and make me a bit breathless and I had some stairs to climb, so I waited while we got back. Quite late and everyone was tired and went to bed. Don't you just hate it when everyone packs in and you have to start. Still needs must and if it means we are well enough at that moment to do stuff I guess we should be very happy.
My matron told me a few weeks ago she was going to see Alfie Boe and I assumed in Scarborough, but he is in Leeds. It is on my sis birthday - so luckily I managed to get seats. Hurrah.
Hope you have all been behaving yourselves!
