Another piece of my blog roll...

OK, some dust and cobwebs blown out of the system, those baked beans work wonders... I've had a few rough days and I'm still not 100%, but good enough to take another look at what I want out of life, and this site too.

I started on a little poem about Trolls, it was swimming around my head for ages around lunchtime and early afternoon, wish I'd had a fag packet or something to have written it down on as I've forgotten it again now! Was it worth the effort...?

I've had a day up with my dad and was so pleased to see him smile so much today. We were talking about all sorts of things, we had a walk round the block (more like half a mile!) and stopped at a cafe for a cuppa. Lovely sunshine, we put the bins out when we got back, then he went for a sit down. The big difference was... his cable TV isn't working! It's got a fault and they're not coming to sort it until the morning. My brother will be there for that. I've suggested to my sister that maybe the TV should break down more often as he was a lot better in himself .

I've seen mention of my radio shows in various places - yes, they are still going out, each Saturday morning from 11am to noon and replayed on Thursday evening 6-7pm. Just go to replay-radio.net or bondi-tunes.com to 'tune in'. They are Internet only in the UK, but are broadcast in Malta, Florida and Australia - amongst others.

I'm quite tired tonight after my journey, not the best of things to do if you have a bad chest, but I'm not straining a lot as the distances between the bus stops and other parts of the journey are pretty close. On the way back I saw 44932, a 'Black 5' steam loco, passing through Wakefield on it's trip back to York from Scarborough.

I somehow managed to catch a bus before the one I usually get, so was in Wakefield a lot earlier than I normally would have been, which meant I had time for two pints of Timothy Taylor's 'Landlord' in the pub next to the station, while I was waiting for course.

Nice sausage & mash in the microwave when I got home, thanks to the wife. Now having a cuppa and a biccy and sorting out email before I finish my music playlist off, ready to record the show for this week.

Oh yeah, and the blogs are working again...

Ahhhh, Rosko! Had the pleasure of meeting him many years ago at the 'Radio One Club' when it came to the Mecca in the Merrion Centre in Leeds. I was in early and he gave me a little job - he had some info cards he wanted giving out, a red and black thing header ' a round tuit' - I had to chuck them into the crowd, above their heads, now and again.

He's now in LA and there's his weekly 'LA Connection' on Replay. IF I'm really lucky, he may do some voice bits for my show. Not asked yet.

Replay is an echo of the past, keeping the memory of Radio Luxembourg alive. Several people who were involved with Luxy are on the team. The station is on 24/7 and has some programming from Bondi Beach now and again too.

Great fun to so. I'm looking forward to the launch of Replay Soul Radio, as I hope to be involved with that too - a 24 hour soul music station, now that will be good.

I have lots of the old jingles form Radio London, Caroline, City and many others. I've done occasional 'remember the pirates' shows, but not for a while. Always fun to dig out some music of the mid 60s and add in a couple of those jingles.

'... the voice of radio one...' I have the full recording, my copy starts before the one I'll link to here: bbc.co.uk/learningzone/clip...

I was soon back to Caroline, then Radio North Sea International in the early 70s. ;-)

just listened to this my goodness, I was a teenager again. When I was younger I had a crystal set radio, the radio was red and about the size of a small nokkia, but the headphones were enormous and extremely uncomfortable, but I would sit up in bed and listen to archie andrews, jimmy clitheroe, oh my the memories are flooding back now
