I would like to ask if people go to the likes of Spain or other places for the winter months. As this is the time that really worries me the most. I have COPD emphysema, diagnosed this year at 50. I'm over the shock now, just trying to think ahead.
Keep well every one.

Hi, look up posts from CanalChris. He, his wife & their dog spent the last two winters in southern Portugal and is now arranging to settle there permanently. His health is very, very much better there.
Inspired by Chris I spent 4 months, December to March on the Côte D'Azur. I was far healthier there than in UK.
I want to find a way to do it each year, we'll see.
There's a lady in Gibraltar, one in Spain.
When I was at my worst I asked my GP where I could live to be healthier. Her answer? Spain.
JFDI I say, especially if you're only 50. The older you get the more difficult it is to start a new life (in my opinion & im adventurous). P
Hello Stu. I have very severe emphysema. I work outside summer and winter, here in the UK, on a late shift. Some winter evenings/nights it's been -4 or lower. It doesn't bother me but I do wrap up well.

Hi jeanielee how would you go on with your health will you get a free GP and prescriptions like we do here, I have an underachiever thyroid so I don't pay for my Medes, xx
Just laughing at my spelling for under active lol that's predictive text for yeah and me not checking it, I didn't know about free meds the lady in the chemist told me about it, I wish you health and happiness in Spain me and my hubby have been talking of living in Portugal in a few years time, P. S. The exempt card is because of the thyroxine meds, not sure why ???? X
I'm going to my GP tomorrow will ask why meds are free and let you know...do you have copd as well? I think a move to Portugal would be lovely..thanks for your good wishes x
