Trachea problem?

Yesterday i was having a glass of coke and i suddenly felt something in my throat. When i put my tongue out something rises up about 3cm that i can see. I think it's my trachea but i'm not sure. I'm only 15. I don't smoke or anything. Any idea of what it is?

Hi Lottie, It does sound as if you are quite worried so I would get in touch with your doctor as soon as you possibly can. Get an appointment and he can look down your throat. Good luck to you and hope all goes well. xx

Hi Lottie333 and welcome. This is a great place you have chosen to visit with lots of lovely caring people to share our experiences with, however, you must visit your doctor to get expert medical advice. Hopefully it will be nothing to worry about, but, it needs checking out. Sometimes we get little bumps and lumps or a little sore that appears for no reason and then they just dissappear like they were never there. Anyway make an appointment with the doc and try get someone could go with you too. Let us know how you get on. June xx

Hi there, it does sound strange. If I were you I'd go to the doc. It'll only take a moment for them to look down your throat with their special light. I really hope you go.

no way...your trachea is under your larynx ... maybe you have tonsil stones...but only your doctor can tell you for sure

Thanks guys, been to the hospital and it's all fine. My Trachea is sticking up above my throat but it will be okay
