I suffer ED, mainly due to Type 2 Diabetes , but the damage is in the nerves. Is anyone working on nerve repair? For that matter are any diseases in the medical profession being worked on for cures? Seems all we have and all that I read are medications at high mark-ups!

Hi, I spotted this the other day which may give hope to some diabetes sufferers medicalxpress.com/news/2014...
May not have relevance for your own condition, but perhaps inspires hope for the future. Gina x
I saw something about a year ago where they had come up with this implant for diabetes lets hope it works I know a lot of people who are over weight and have diabetes are have bariatric surgery which is major step to take
Yes, I suppose there are so many different institutions doing research that unless someone subscribes to every medical journal there's little chance of keeping up with it all. A website that could filter the various published articles for a comprehensive list of diseases might be easier than ploughing through the results from an internet search. Don't know how feasible it would be though. Maybe we just haven't heard of any. Gina x
Web MD and Medscape are site that do recap numerous things on the horizon but they mainly tell of no procedures and test results but not cures.
Hi the treatment for nerve end damage as I know is tablets, I am on Amitriptyline they do work, but as for all tablets you could find that you may need a higher strength as the pain increases, ask your Doctor or Diabetes team.
Hope this has been helpful.

PLEASE clarify does Amitriptyline add to pain but help with ED and diabetes neuropathy? I am taking nerve block for neck vertebra pain issues and I have chronic R-Knee pain issues for over 10 years, 24/7 due to botch knee surgery. The knee is in the back at the crease line, but the actually areas is pea size spot in the crease. I have use morphine, Tens unit, cryo-ice water pump into a bladder, Pennsaid, deep massage. A MRI showed nothing. I was told if I cut the nerve I could not walk. Same knee has artery damage that has plaque build up that requires angioplasty around every 15 to 18 months (Leg locks up until blood flow is restored)
