oh mine was 3 afternoons a week

you will enjoy it i did but i didnt complete it as i had only been diagnosed and told i may need a transplant so it was all too much too soon x

in reply to

sorry to hear that Mandy I turned down being placed on the transplant list I was 62 then and honestley I did not think I would not make such major surgery and to be fair I felt that transplants were OK for younger and fitter people and I don't resent making that decision

in reply to

your not the first person to tell me they had turned it down and it was a relief to hear that because i didnt know if i wanted to go through it and still dont but everyone was saying i was mad and should jump at it.

thats one of the things i love about this site....there are so many people who have similar thoughts it lets you know your not mad x

I did one about 2 years ago. Two sessions per week, 2 hours and one hour. The one hour was all exercises and the two was one hour exercise followed by discussion/lecture with tea and biccies. Twelve on it, 11 COPD and me a single IPF. The lectures etc were absolutely useless to me, all about different inhalers and medication for COPD. The nurses knew absolutely nothing about IPF as it is a lot rarer than COPD - in the feedback I pointed this out and suggested that there should be one for IPF separate from COPD but was told there were not enough of us!

TYVM scribe I two sessions a week and one session at home it would be foolish of me not to comply fully

I hope you enjoy it - my husband found it very useful and it improved his fitness! xx

in reply to

TYVM Tadaw I am looking forward to it not just on improving general muscle tone and breathing properly but also with meeting new people all of whom have similar problems

let us know how it goes ant :)

Whoopy ant at last. Bet you are over the moon. Only three more sessions for me. Enjoy it. We are a happy little group. Lots of encouragement and laughs but they work us hard.

I am looking forward to it Suzy this is my second session but the last one worked well just that I had a load of flare ups last winter and did some pulmonary physio in July and they thought I would benefit another torcher session in the gym and to think I could never do PE or gym when I was at school because of my chest times have changed and for the better.

thank you sassy

Hi ant, they must all be different cuz mine was 2 x week Monday and Thursdays 2 hours per session for 6 weeks, 1 hour group talks and I hour exercise class, I didn't finish all my sessions due to being ill on some of the sessions plus I was deteriating with my illness so the 1st plans of action was no longer appropriate. So although I don't benefit physically, socially I loved it. X Sonia x

in reply to

Hi Sonia yes mine does seem different to yours but I signed on the dotted line for 8 weeks and I am looking forward to it.

Really enjoyed it. Mx

Good luck Ant hope your infections let you finish it this time round.I attended a permanent rehab class during the summer but it was cancelled due to staff shortages.I,m hoping it will be back up and running for the winter months.Above is the first time I have heard anything negative about pulmonary rehab. ?
