Every time I am on steroids I get stiffness and pain in my hips when I walk or stand for more than a couple mins. I am now on long term steroids and the pain is moving up my back and into my arms. Is there anything I can use to help. Paracetamol's don't touch it

Does anyone else get pain in there joints while on steroids?
Funnily enough, my bone pain is much much less when I am on steroids for my lung infections. I have osteoporosis and arthritis and get chronic bone pain quite frequently, but the steroids seem to help. I am not on long term steroids...just 10 days each time when I have an infection. Perhaps you should ask for a change of brand or something???? Good luck!
Hello for some people you get a build up of fluid which will also affect the joints I generally find it is my knees and Ankles. If I keep moving the discomfort is less, although the breathing wont always allow that. I would suggest you talk to your GP just to make sure it is nothing else. best wishes Irene
Thank you for the replies. The pain get worse with movement. Seeing gp this morning as the pain is limiting me x
Yes I get awful joint pain I am on Puklmicort which is fine for my Lungs but my back aches my knees and hips ache too. I have Osteoarthritis but I know the steroid inhaler makes it worse. I would be interested to hear what your GP says because I too have had enough of the side effects.
My gp has decided it is not my joints but muscle weakness. Been put on tramadol with paracetamol's. It is helping
