Hi Jimmyg49
I am quite new and don't post much. Every time I have I have received very good advice and a really friendly welcome. Thought I would continue that by saying hi.
Big welcome to you Jimmy, come back more often now eh?! xx
Good Morning Jimmy, I hope that you are not too anxious about the oxygen assessment. It is quite straight forward. My husband was given oxygen last October during his PR course as his SATS were dropping to 84 during exercise. He uses it now when we go out - if he feels like he needs it. His FEV1 is about 28%. If you have any questions please come on and ask. Take good care, TAD xx
Hi and welcome Jimmy49. My FEV! is 24%. Like TADAW's husband I use a low amount of oxygen and use it when I go out. If I feel like it !
Just had my oxygen assessment my first one although I have been on oxygen since 2010. I was a bit worried about it being as it was the first time. Nothing to be worried about. They just did a gas blood test in the artery in the wrist. Took a reading of that then took me off oxygen for 20 minutes and repeated the gas blood test again. My sats were at 96 at the start of the first test and 20 minutes later they were down to 86 but the CO2 reading was within the acceptable parameters. End of assessment.
phew .... Puff - that's so low I'm gasping for you.
I always say if I go any slower I'd be going backwards .... I'm 27%.
Well done .....
Welcome Jimmy
Was there any special reason that you have decided to post now? do you have a problem at the moment, or are you just wanting to say Hello to everyone?
Whatever the reason its good to 'meet ' you
