Does mucus ever go away ,,
Erm hmmm I think so I don't know much about copd but I constantly have mucus in my throat I think I will but if it doesn't clear up then go back to your GP
Your body makes mucus all the time its a natural part of the body function, its how your body gets rid of it is the point some of us do it naturally others with chest and nasal problems need help with Meds and Physio, its annoying but try asking your Dr for help and advise on it.Its always worse with a cold and any chest issues mild or otherwise, don't struggle ask for help if it drags on, really not worth it, get better soon.
Well, my husband has severe COPD and to be honest he coughs like mad in the morning when he gets up and coughs on and off during the day. Some days are worse than others and after an infection it can take a while to settle back down. My advise would be to go back to the Doctor if it hasn't cleared up it maybe you have a mild infection. Take care, TAD xx
Hi I also suffer from copd and if I take a cold at all it always lands on my chest and I have to end up getting an antibiotic, so take care and get it checked
Hi I also suffer from COPD and have a permanent cough & muscus which I find very hard to get up that's about all I suffer from otherwise everything is sort of OK I would guess that muscus & cough's are part and pArcel of the condition although I must admit After reading some replies I am tempted with the nasal sprays - will ask my doctor when I return after my winter break in warmer climates!
I suffer copd,,i take Mucadyne to dry up my mucus,, i take 2 three times a day,,have not had any problems with the capsules, and am free from mucas,,,maybe you should talk to your doctor about trying them out,,comes in liquid form also,,,
Fortunately, I am the end of two bad infections - pneumonia and pseudomonas. I still have antibiotic poured into my veins. Mucus is produced more because our lungs are damged in some way. It's best to do the following exercise to get rid of some.
Sit quietly. Put your hands on your tummy. Breathe into your tummy ten times. Them put your hands on top of your chest. Breathe in gently, when you are near the top give a good sniff and lock the breathing for a second or two. Then release the air. Do this ten times. You can try a huff in between or at the end to cough up some mucus.
There may be times when you have no mucus; just enjoy your time of freedom!
