Somebody has just mentioned humour as one of the best medicines. I would also recommend another.
Having a pet.
I know how uplifting the companionship of my Snowy has helped me to cope better

We don't own a cat but one of the Neighbours is in our house most of the day. The owner said he won't stay in at their house. He isn't a lap cat yet he curls up on my knee. He lies on the sofa or chair and purrs for hours. We love him to bits. I love to see him curled up on my Husbands knee. It is so good for both of them. X
Animals wild and tame are very special.
And music can be very uplifting also.
Hiya pussy yep I have a kitty who seems very intune with me. If I have a breathing problem he makes his way to me from where ever he maybe and insists on attention which helps to relax me therefore helping me get my breathing under control my puppy just makes me smile and laugh all day it's hard to stay cross when he is naughty sometimes. My pets help me in many ways ,coz you know they can talk, we have long chats! janexx

I agree about pets. We have a cat, Betsy, who is such She seems almost human at times a friend. She has kept Brian going through his chemo, and me too. And for the imminent move - 2 1/2 hours on a motorway. Betsey will be protesting all the way. Anybody got any ideas?
Check with the vet for safe sedation, cats don't like being out of their territory, it could be quite traumatic for her, here is some info you may find useful : bluecross.org.uk/1957-2769/...
Thanks, Blakey, I have only just found this info. Helpful. xx
My three dogs mean the world to me. They help keep me fit and won't allow me to feel down cos they all gang up on me and demand to be stroked. Bestest Friends x
Can't have a pet unfortunately...the small hairs cause me problems with breathing. I have thought about a poodle or other similar wooly haired dogs but I think I will struggle to pick up their mess when out and about...unless I can persuade them to poo off the ground...nah...don't think that will happen. My other alternative has been ruled out by my beloved, Ariston. A Cornish or Devon Rex cat...they are completely bald....just skin.

I have to labs Harvey and Holly black and yellow they are and they are the reason I get up in a morning and they understand when I'm not well.
Oh couldn't. Beady little eyes, long pointed nose, twitching whiskers...nah. It would remind me of the wife.
