Hi everyone...Went for the first session of pulmonary rehab today... I'd been looking forward to it as it's been such a long wait! Very disappointing outcome...doing the 6 minute walk test my oxygen levels fell to 78 and the nurses stopped me as that was far too low. I am now being referred for oxygen assessment....turns out I wouldn't have been able to do the exercises anyway because of the torn calf muscle. ...anyhow... I'm wondering can anyone tell me what's the best smart watch giving the most accurate readings. I'm not really interested in the sports things it's all the health stats I'm looking for. Any advice welcome ...many thanks

Hi, I have an iWatch which l find very useful indeed. It helps me keep a close eye on my heart rate, blood oxygen level and an ecg. Lots of health benefits and I’m really pleased with it. There are of course other options out there and hoping you’ll hear from others soon. Xxx
I have an Apple Watch 9 and I love it. It does lots of monitoring, but like it best for blood oxygen readings. When I was in hospital last year I compared the reading with the monitor they put on your finger and the reading was the same.
I have an huwaii band( not sure what band now as I've had for few years).it's pretty accurate with 02,has stopwatch monitors heart rate, sleep, steps etc,.disappointing re yr 02 levels.has yr chest infection cleared yet x
this happened to me when I went to PR last August it was a shock. I was thinking of getting a new Apple Watch as the one I have doesn’t have oxygen levels on it, however I found that from some people they’re not that accurate. I bought a finger oxy meter from Amazon.
Hi i have a fitbit inspire 3 which is great
I have a Da Fit watch which is not very reliable.
I have a Huwei band 9. Comparing it to hospital readings it seems quite accurate. It gives oxygen, heart, steps etc and links to an app on my phone (but I don’t think you need to link). I’ve found that it’s really useful as well in giving me the amount of exercise I have and gives me the incentive to move from my chair. I have no idea how much it cost as it was a gift but so much cheaper than an Apple Watch.
Early last yearMy Apple watch was going beserk.
15 alerts saying my heartbeat was very low.
I didn’t give it any thought as I was feeling ok , until I stood up, then went a bit light headed.
My sensible wife phoned 111 and spoke to an advisor , a clinician called back. After a few questions, the clinician called an emergency ambulance which arrived in 10 minutes. I didn’t fancy spending hours in A&E then being sent home.
Then it became scary
Blue lighted to A&E i and straight into Rhesus where a Dr. Was waiting.
Transferred to Acute Cardiac unit
Monitoring over the night where my bpm dropped to as low as 29 I was given a battery of tests and various drugs to improve the heart beat.
The next day I was transferred to Liverpool heart and chest and had a pacemaker fitted.
All because of my Apple watch
Excellent care from everyone in both hospitals.
I've done 6min walk tests, with a good distance result, and O2 sats always drop below 70. I'm breathless, but feel otherwise ok. The physio says the O2 signal captured by the monitor is weak due to my always cold hands. I measure O2 sats at home with a pulse oximeter, and also have a Garmin lily watch and a iWatch. The iWatch gives a reading which is a little higher (~2%) than the other two.
Thank you Rosyblue... I was unnerved by the stats yesterday ...like you I always seem to have cold hands so maybe that was part of the problem.. I also monitor stats at home with pulse oximeter... it's just hard to know what readings are accurate!
The physio also had me walk while getting oxygen, and even that did not raise the O2 sats. Neither the physio or consultant were overly concerned.
If you’re not able to do the PR classes maybe look into trying the seated exercises, there are quite a few on YouTube that are perfect for COPD patients, my saturation levels drop to around 75 when exercising so have portable oxygen for when I do the exercises, good luck for the future 🌸💐🌷😊
