Well i have never heard of cramp in the lungs,,so sorry to read you get that,,i suffer terrible cramps in legs feet and neck,,i have been blaming that on one of my inhalers, but not sure which one,,the only tablet i,m taking at the moment is hydroxy for my RA, and i know its not that,,i,m sure someone will come along soon though,,you can always give the BLF a ring in the morning and ask them,,xx
Stay as warm as you can Podmore. If you have to go out when it is cold always wrap up warm and try breathing through a scarf to warm the air before it hits your lungs.
thank you lovex
Hello podmore all good advise from these lovely members,
I have to put a silk scarf across my mouth to save breathing in the cold or damp air, this is a part of my management plan, Joan x
Keep your mouth covered with a scarf, also, keep warm, in winter i'm never without my thermal vests
Think warm ... all parts of body at all times. Silk scarf so no fluff or lint inhaled. I have sheepswool insoles in shoes and slippers. Onesies are fab. Bed cardigan. Hats. Scarf round neck even inside. Red 'flannel' wraps my body keeping lungs warm. Thermal vests. Layers to add or peel off as body temp changes quickly eg when coughing. Try to keep house constantly warm enough. X
I agree with everyone above but also just wonder if you have spoken to the Doctor about it just in case there are other meds. /inhalers that could help you. It might also be an idea to ring the helpline for their advise. Take care and keep warm. TAD xx
i don't go out that much ,i have inhalers , thank you for your advice
when people say it's warm, I feel cold. I've set up the heater to come on in the evening up to 23 degree> During the day, at the moment, I wear a jumper. But if I stay too long in front of the computer - which I do most days (!) - I get cold. so I have a fleece handy, and gloves with holes at the tip of the fingers, and a bandana to put around my neck, and a beanie hat (green). Sometimes, I don't need all this. But winter is coming.
I had the good idea to complain to the council about the cold coming through the window. They sent a man who took the plastic around the edge and put little bits of plastic where he could feel the wind going through. The council also replaced my back boiler for a brand new proper combi boiler which works fantastically. I also had a lounge heater installed for those cold winter days.
sorry, it's a bit of a long list, but all these are areas which can be improved and they make a real difference
I second what Juliekay says. Keep warm. Wear layers. Are you sure its cramp in your lungs, rahter than the muscles in your back and chest? I used to get it all the time especially standing in the cold at football. Like any other type of cramp I only felt better by trying to stretch the muscle - which made me look very daft in public! That siad speak to your GP, its a horrible pain to suffer.
Marie
Stay in the warm and drink plenty of water. I get affected by cold damp weather too. Not feeling so good today.
