I finally got my walking test and lung function test on Friday 12/03/21.
Things have been tough and my breathlessness is getting worse went to see g.p and my oxygen levels were 86?
Eventually went to 94 if it didn't she said I would have to go into hospital. Thank God it went to 95. Blood pressure ok, agreed she would contact respiratory.
Anyway consultant phoned on Monday told him how I am feeling. Tuesday gets letter for next Friday. Sorry if I'm rattling on its the steriods. Consultant told me my lungs are extremely scared which was a shock for me I'll need oxygen and I'm out of my mind with worry.
Sorry I had to get it off my chest. Look after yourselves you wonderful people take care🤗

Hiya Mickie, I am sorry to hear that you feel so awful at the moment. But good that your oxygen level went up again, did you feel better after it? I know it's awful when you have no breath left to do anything. Just wait and see that your breathing will improve again when getting oxygen. I know it's scary to hear that your lungs are scared and of course you are worried about it, everyone would be worried. But I hope that the consultant is able to do something about it and that your breathing will be better again. Just take it easy and do something you like to keep your mind of things. You take care and stay safe and warm 🍀🍀🍀🍀 and get well again 😊
Sorry Mickie to hear of your news. I can imagine that feels scary. I don’t have experience of needing oxygen but I really hope it helps you feel better! I hope your consultant can help put your mind at ease when you see him, along with other great people here who will understand better than I do, needing oxygen.
Take care!
Dee
Oh so sorry you are so scared and worried Mickie, I am glad though the consultant seems to be looking after you. You will find you will be able to achieve more once you receive your oxygen prescription and you will be glad of it once you experience how much it can help you.
Don't hesitate to contact the BLF helpline regarding any concerns but I am sure your consultant will be able to answer any concerns you have when you go back to discuss oxygen use etc. Do make a list of anything you think of that concerns you so you can get answers / advice at your next appointment.
Mean time try not to stress too much and make sure you look after yourself, rest up as you need to.
That's we are here for so you can rattle kn as much as you. We all our worries and it's nice to come in to this great site for help. Hope all goes well next Friday. Let us know how you go. Take care🙂
Good that you will finally be getting the answers needed to move forward. As one on oxygen I can reassure you if you need oxygen, you need it, period. It’s certainly possible you may need it for activity and sleep, not necessarily 24/7. Whatever it is it is, you and your organs require oxygen to function. I can also tell you if you do need it you will recognize markedly improved breathing upon exertion and greatly improved sleep. Again, All Best Wishes, judg69
