First PR Session.

First PR session went ok today. First we had blood pressure and sats done and then a talk on diaphramic breathing. Then the gym, was taught the easy warm up exercises and given a monitor sheet where we had to write down how long we managed on different apparatus and what our sats were after each exercise. Mine drop to about 83 but I found it strange that no-one ever mentioned using oxygen when exercising for this reason and no-one else on the course used any although some where worse than me. I went on the exercise bike and managed a couple of mins and then my legs really started aching and went like jelly so I had to stop although I was only slightly breathless. I think its because I`ve always taken the easy way out since becoming sob and sit down whenever I can so I`ve lost the muscle tone in my legs. I`m hoping to get them stronger again soon.

I was tired when I got home and fell asleep for a couple of hours!

I felt a bit awkard being with a new group of people I don`t know but I think I`ll be ok after a couple of sessions.

I`m looking forward to going again on Wednesday, I`ll be going twice a week for 8 weeks.

Yes they do recover quickly, perhaps that`s why. I think I`ll ask them on there policy when I go again.

Oh, well done! Don't make the mistake of resting on the days you don't go to PR or every session is like the first - aching all over! Try to do the exercises at home as well and you will soon see the difference in your fitness. xx

Good advice Toci, really hard when knackered but you feel better afterwards. :-)

Good on you, looks like you've made a good start to it all,I'm sure you'll get to know others quite soon.Try & exercise at home,if you can.

Do keep an eye on those sats.Im a bit surprised they are not doing that.

Anyway, enjoy it, & feel the benefit of it all!

Love Wendells xxx

Well done you Susie :-)

It's my last one this morning- only got 6 weeks.

It's marvellous.

Do speak to them about your concerns about sats dropping ask how you should breath to get them up quickly.i

At mine they are right there getting us to do pursed lip breathing which for me really works.

Lucky you're doing yours in a gym, you'll be able to continue the same if you've got a gym to use.

Mine is held in a small hall attached to a mental health department at a little hospital (near Mitcham) so not far to go if I crack :-)

Good luck tomorrow xx

Lol, peeg. Mine was held in a room at a local church, equipment was restricted to what could be carried in a box by a physio - 'lady weights', a walking stick, a couple of balls - but it was still wonderful! :)
