Qi Gong - exercise that helps on many levels.

Do check with your doctor first if you have not done any exercise for some time, you may need to start with something easier and more suited to your needs which your doctor can advise and recommend to you. Pulmonary rehabilitation perhaps or something else more appropriate.

Here is nice short routine which I use myself from time to time. I find it does boost energy and helps keep things mobile, also helps with shortness of breath, especially if you incorporate breathing exercise into it. Slow inhale exhale etc

Unfortunately you cant always see the leg and foot movement in this video but if you have done tai chi or Qi gong before you will probably know what these are. However, just doing the arm movements alone is very relaxing and calming.

Hope you enjoy

It's almost exactly like some Tai Chi moves. They do help balance and breathing.

many thanks Blakey C for putting the Qi Gong exercise on this site. Although a bit hard on the legs, It helped me shift a load of mucus off my chest. I feel its something I can manage and like yourself, do from time to time :)

So glad it has helped you in some way letys. I do this one more when I am not feeling up to much else but I don't doubt it is a good one to do daily if you enjoy it :).

You're welcome x

Tai Chi and Qi Gong are being used in some Pulmonary Rehab sessions too! It has many benefits.

To search for your local instructor go to: taichiunion.com/instructors

or call 01403 257918

But as BlakeyC said - remember to check with your health professional before exercising and you may be eligible for Pulmonary Rehab where you can learn to exercise safely.

Keep active!
