I don't want to teach my grandmother to suck eggs, but I presume you all know you should take the filter out of the back of your concentrator, put your spare one in and wash the one you took out then it is ready for the change the following week. I was amazed, where I had the windows open it had dandelion seeds in it. The service engineer gave me my spare when he came to do the six monthly service. If you don't have a spare I should ring your oxygen .supplier. Keep smiling

Carole - what a wonderfully helpful tip - this site is full of fascinating great bits of stuff that the healthcare providers don't tell you about. Thank you
I have only had my concentrator for 3 weeks and I didn't even know that the filter needed cleaning. A certain oxygen company did not mention anything when they installed it. So thanks for the heads up. Talking about new gadgets, I've only had my rollator for 3 days. Does anyone know how to get up the kerb?
Like a pushchair if you can remember that, oh Carole don't be rude, push down on the handles to bring the front wheels up onto the kerb push forward then lift the rear wheels, or better still find a dropped kerb! Keep smiling
Thanks for the reminder Carole as I havn't changed my filter for at least a month. I have a spare and I do change it but its easy to forget as I have now. I clean my filters with soap and luke warm water once a week when remembered, as I was told by Airproducts
Its a pretty basic filter but its better than nothing so I'll do it now while I have it in mind.
Air Products provided me with 2 filters and I rinse one through in clear water each week when I change them. I remember by always doing it on dustbin collection day.
I wash mine once a week in warm soapy water and rinse and dry in accordance to my instructions, rinse the flask daily, and wash that in water with a drop of bleach once a week as well, and wipe down the machine. All as I am told - I am a good girl - in this anyway lol x
