It seems to me, podmore, that you need a lot of help. You have a chest condition, and this in turn can lead to all the problems that you have. Your have my sympathies, but more helpful would be the nurse at BLF - 0300030555 or to ask for double appointment with your doctor.

I know that alcohol can be a bit of crutch but the dependancy needs to be dealt with, addictive like smoking. Hope you dont smoke?? With my very good wishes, love Annieseed

Hello podmore, when do you have to see atos? I hope they listen to you, it is very much about how copd 'effects' you more than 'what you have', depression is a serious illness too. My Mum had copd and enjoyed a drink all her life, she stopped smoking but still had her favourite tipple, good luck with these dispicable atos shower, huff xxxxx

Well done for stopping smoking. :)

Hi Podmore,

I'd suggest one step at a time, take things easy, joing some support groups (again one at a time), have you had any form of counselling to help with the depression? Are you on meds for this?

What would be the first think you would like to tackle? Depression or alcohol dependancy? I'd suggest the alcohol dependancy as alcohol is a natural depressant but it is your choice. Daft question and I don't want to appear rude or teach you to suck eggs but would you consider an support service for alcohol misuse? The AA or alcoholics anonymous ? If you would like some information please private message me with your contact details or region and I shall carry out some research for services in your area.

Let me know if I can be of assistance, I'm here on the BLF helpline if you would like to chat: 03000 030 555.

Take care.

H
