Hi Barcardi

Are you sure it is varicose veins? I have been having thrombophlebitis which I think is something like varicose veins and it is really sore.

I hope that you get some good advice from your GP when you go.

Good luck hun.

Hello Bacardi

It is not my inhaler which causes my thrombophlebitis. I'm prone to DVTs and PEs and the thrombophlebitis is little blood clots in surface veins (so I'm told) which is much less scary than DVTs.

I hope that your GP sorts the problem out.

Good luck

Hi annec thank you for your answer I wasn't sure what that was thanks for clearing that up for me take care Jane xx :-)

Hi Bacardi, I have had vicky veins since I was 24 had an operation to removal age 27, two years later they were back and now I am nearly 49, back then i was told that there is no chance of another op until I can into my 60's, I wonder if I will get there copd and diabetes 2.

I wonder if varicose is an warning light to other problems?.

If you can stand the pain try and stick with the veins any operation carries a great deal of risk even for people with strong healthy bodies. Speak to your Doctor about unisex ribbed socks, they hold your veins tight to the leg and beleive me they do work I have to stand all day at work as I am a Painter & Decorator,

Take care.
