I've had breathing issues for 15 years now. Variously diagnosed as late onset asthma/COPD. I started a bad flare up in Sept 2023 and the cough and mucus has never stoped . Between then and April 24 I was prescribed 10 courses of Doxycycline and about 6 of Prednisilone. most GP appointments being over thephone. I finally saw a resp consultant at the hospital in June 24. After spirometry, high res CT scans xrays, blood tests nitric oxide tests he stated that I did not have COPD and stopped all my medication. He prescribed Fostair 200/6 on a MART regime (I know it is not recommended but he was OK with this). Recently went on to Azithromycin 3 times a week and 3% saline nebulizer twice a day. My last visit he said that the diagnosis is now Yellow nail syndrome with interstitial oedema and mild bronchiectasis and he prescribed Oramorph for the cough. However this makes me feel really nausious Sputum cultures show Haemophilus-sometimes. Any how my question is does anyone else out there been diagnosed with Yellow nail Syndrome which is associated with Bronchiectasis. And if so how is your consultant treating you. The cough and breathlesness seem to be getting worse.

Apologies for the length

You may want to try the Lung conditions community forum. They cater for a wider range of lung conditions.

Good luck with it.
