lufrobec side effects
I was switched from Fostair to Lufobec,, - never had a problem with Fostair but I experienced slight dizziness when driving and a minor raspy throat with Lufobec, even with gargling after, they say Lufobec is the same as Fostair but I noticed one of the acids is different, although my asthma nurse did not know this!…I was switched back to Fostair with the prescription heading ‘does not tolerate Lufobec’…..It is a cost saving exercise by the NHS and it is made in India……Talk to your asthma nurse or doctor……
I think you are right. The main difference, I believe, is the cost. Luforbec seems to be an inferior product. - I've yet to hear anyone recommend it over Fostair.
BTW - The letter I got from the Health Board to try and switch me to Luforbec from Fostair did not exactly say they were the same. The crafty wording said the ACTIVE ingredients were the same.....NB - It did not claim that ALL ingredients are the same!
I believe the propellant gas is different, but there may be other differences too
I was in exactly the same circumstance as Pontyp, and found exactly the same, not the main ingredient, but the acid is different and caused irritation and made me cough as soon as inhaled it, so no use at all in taking it. My nurse changed me back to fostair and no problems since. good Luck.
I was changed. Lasted a week and my peak flow dropped, coughed wheezed and had to call the GP. He switched me straight back and prescribed Prednisolone. I reported my reaction to the yellow card scheme.
I was switched to lufobec from fostair in July, lasted a week. I spent the week coughing, wheezing and generally feeling like rubbish. My peak flow dropped, I couldn't do alot of stuff without feeling breathless. Went for my asthma review and changed back to fostair with the note saying lufobec not tolerated
